Champion Colten Cashmore was among five UW-Oshkosh wrestlers to finish among the top three places at the Titans' Dan Gable Open on Saturday (Nov. 11) in Kolf Sports Center.

The non-scoring event was held for the 15th consecutive year and featured wrestlers from nine collegiate programs, including NCAA Division II affiliate UW-Parkside, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics member University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), and UW-Oshkosh's NCAA Division III and WIAC rivals UW-Platteville and UW-Stevens Point.

Cashmore went unbeaten in three contests to win the 184-pound weight class. He edged UW-Oshkosh teammate Juwon Anderson, 1-0, for the title after defeating Scott Deluse of the University of the Cumberlands, 5-1, and Taylor Gilardi of Lakeland University, 2-0.

Anderson advanced to the 184-pound final following wins of 5-3 over Dominic Gallo of Harper College (Ill.), 8-6 over Dominic Gunderson of UW-Stevens Point and 4-2 over Micah Linton of the University of the Cumberlands.

Also finishing second for the Titans was Jordan Lemcke at 197 pounds. Lemcke lost his championship contest by a 6-2 result to the University of the Cumberlands' Eric Deluse. Lemcke qualified for the final with a pin of unattached Jake Olson in 4:25 and a 7-2 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Duncan Heath.

UW-Oshkosh had a pair of third-place finishers in John DePersia at 197 pounds and Michael Dunlap at 285.

DePersia compiled a 2-1 record, including a pin of Heath in 2:26 during the third-place match. DePersia bounced back from a pin in 2:37 to Eric Deluse in the opening round with an 11-9 triumph over Olson.

Dunlap won four of his five contests, including a pin of Lakeland University's Michael Grabe in 2:25 during the third-place bout. After losing a 4-3 decision on a tiebreaker to unattached Aaron Johnson in the opening round, Dunlap rattled off victories of 10-7 over UW-Stevens Point's Steve Anderson, 5-3 over unattached Ben Kitslaar and 3-1 (sudden victory) over University of the Cumberland's Devin Morrow.

Taking fourth place for the Titans was Nate Arquinego at 157 pounds. He tallied a 3-2 record after losing his third-place contest by a 10-9 score to Harper College's Tristen Guaman.
