The WIAC voted UW-Oshkosh's Cheyenne Moore as its Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for meets held Sept. 4-10.
Moore ranked ninth among 163 runners as UW-Oshkosh began its 2017 season with an eighth-place finish at the Vic Godfrey Open held Sept. 9 in Somers.
Moore, who finished 45th at last year's NCAA Division III Championship, completed the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18:26 to rank as UW-Oshkosh's top finisher.
NCAA Division I Marquette University owned four of the meet's top seven runners and won the team title with 28 points. Division II Northern Michigan University finished second to the Golden Eagles with 84 points while Division III University of Chicago (Ill.) placed third with 99. UW-Oshkosh ranked eighth among the 12 teams with 216 points.
Jessica Parker of Marquette University claimed the individual title with a time of 17:48 while teammate and twin sister Jennifer Parker finished second in 17:52. Khia Kurtenbach of the University of Chicago placed third with a time of 17:52.
