Charles Sommer enters his second season as the UW-Oshkosh men's and women's swimming & diving program as an assistant coach in 2023.

Sommer arrived at UW-Oshkosh after spending one season as an assistant swimming & diving coach at Homestead High School in Mequon.

Sommer's coaching position at UW-Oshkosh includes recruitment of student-athletes, youth/adult camp organization and daily operation assistance with the men's and women's programs. 

Sommer was the head coach of Lompoc Tsunami Aquatics (Calif.) from 2016-21 before moving to the Southeastern Wisconsin.

Sommer graduated from Lompoc High School (Calif.) and attended Allan Hancock College (Calif.).

Sommer, and his wife, Rebecca, are the parents of daughter, Camilla.
