Box Score Ryan Redmond (So. • Lake Elmo, Minn.) scored in the seventh minute of play as the UW-Oshkosh men's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 victory over Saint Mary's University (Minn.) on Friday (Oct. 14) in Winona, Minn.
Redmond tallied his second goal of the season on his only shot of the contest. His unassisted goal came just 6:51 into action.
UW-Oshkosh (7-4-2) attempted 20 shots, including 12 in the first half. The Titans were led by the six shots of Tony Starnes (Jr. • Green Bay), four of Ryan Hanna (So. • Verona) and the two of Jonathan Fox (Fr. • Brooklyn).
Saint Mary's University, which is winless in 10 matches (0-9-1) against UW-Oshkosh, was held to just six shots. The Cardinals (2-10-1) were paced by the two shots of Jacob Bina.
UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper James Pike (Sr. • Wauwatosa) saved three shots, including two in the second half, to record his 19th career shutout. Saint Mary's University goalkeeper Chris Williams saved eight shots, with five of them coming in the first half. UW-Oshkosh goes for its third straight victory when visits UW-Platteville on Sunday (Oct. 16). The Pioneers handed UW-Oshkosh a 1-0 loss last Saturday (Oct. 8) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
