Kevin Lewis (So. • Howard) won twice in doubles play and once in singles action as UW-Oshkosh lost men's tennis matches of 6-3 to Luther College (Iowa) and 7-2 to Wheaton College (Ill.) on Friday (Feb. 10) in Elkhorn.

Lewis teamed with Bobby Brooks (So. • Neenah) to post victories of 8-4 over Quinn Foley and Scott Sundstrom of Luther College and 9-7 over Joshua Ward and Jordan Williams of Wheaton College. Both contests were at No. 1 doubles.

Competing at No. 2 singles, Lewis tallied a 1-1 record. He defeated Nick Mozena of Luther College, 1-6, 7-5 (10-4), before suffering a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Ward of Wheaton College.

Aidan Sauberlich (Fr. • Green Bay) was involved in a pair of UW-Oshkosh victories, including his 2-6, 6-4 (10-4) triumph over Wheaton College's Joel Parrish at No. 4 singles. Sauberlich also paired with Adam Kasper (Jr. • Franklin) to register an 8-3 win over Luther College's Aaron Gendron and Tyler Zinnecker at No. 2 doubles.

UW-Oshkosh (0-3) lost several competitive singles contests against Luther College, including Scott Niemi's (Sr. • Appleton) 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 setback to James Ayer in the first flight. Sauberlich was edged 7-6, 7-6 by Foley at No. 4 singles, Jason Alexander (So. • Fond du Lac) 7-6, 7-5 by Matt Bellio at No. 6 singles and Kasper 7-5, 7-5 by Torstein Jystad at No. 5 singles.

The Norse (3-1) also received wins from Sundstrom at No. 1 singles and Joeseph LaFontaine and Tyler Van Heest at No. 3 doubles. Sundstrom defeated Brooks, 6-4, 6-0, while LaFontaine and Van Heest ousted Niemi and Josh Hopfensperger (So. • Neenah), 8-5.

Wheaton College (2-0) won its two doubles contests over UW-Oshkosh by 8-6 scores. Miles Greenwald and Taylor Johnson edged Kasper and Sauberlich in the second flight while Parrish and David Buursma trimmed Hopfensperger and Niemi in the third.

Singles winners for the Thunder were Johnson in the first flight, Williams in the third, Buursma in the fifth and Greenwald in the sixth. Johnson notched a 6-2, 6-4 win over Brooks and Williams a 7-5, 6-4 triumph over Niemi. Buursma had a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Kasper and Greenwald a 6-2, 6-2 win over Alexander.

UW-Oshkosh remains in Elkhorn to battle nationally-ranked UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Feb. 11).
