Titans Finish Fourth Against Three Division I & II Programs

UW-Oshkosh's highest score of the season was a little short as it finished fourth behind three NCAA Division I and II women's gymnastics programs at a quadrangular hosted by Texas Woman's University on Sunday (Jan. 26) in Denton, Texas.

Division III UW-Oshkosh calculated a team score of 190.025 after earning results of 48.125 in both the floor exercise and uneven bars competitions, 47.70 on the vault and 46.075 on the balance beam.

Division I Kent State University (Ohio), which finished fourth at last year's Mid-American Conference Championship, won Sunday's meet with a score of 194.95. Division II programs Texas Woman's University and Lindenwood University (Mo.) finished second and third with scores of 193.40 and 192.35, respectively.

Olivia Keller gave UW-Oshkosh its best individual finish with her second-place listing on the balance beam. Keller and gymnasts Katie Bailey and Taylor Colwell from Lindenwood University all tied for second in the event with their scores of 9.775.

Kent State University's Riley Danielson won the balance beam title with a score of 9.85 while Titans Baylee Tkaczuk finished 12th and Kaira Hammond 16th with marks of 9.45 and 9.15, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh had five top-18 finishers on the uneven bars as Tkaczuk placed fifth with a score of 9.75, Emily Gilot 12th at 9.65, Trinity Sawyer 15th at 9.625, Jessica Bernardo 17th at 9.575 and Rahdea Jarvis 18th at 9.525. Kent State University's Karlie Franz won the event with a score of 9.825.

On the vault, UW-Oshkosh was led by Gilot's sixth-place grade of 9.775. Sawyer finished 10th for the Titans with her score of 9.725 and Haley Volstad 18th at 9.55. Kent State University's Nasha Manitkul-Davis and Lindenwood University's Aleah Leman took first place in the event with a score of 9.85.

The floor exercise had Titans Gilot and Sawyer finish 15th with their scores of 9.70. Franz and Texas Woman's University's Bria Northrop captured the event's title with their scores of 9.85.

Sawyer was UW-Oshkosh's lone all-around competitor and she finished sixth among seven contestants with her score of 38.00. Kent State University's Franz won the category with a score of 39.20.

UW-Oshkosh will visit Winona State University (Minn.) for a dual meet on Thursday (Jan. 30).
