Titans Cap Regular Season With Triangular Win At Home

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team scored 193.225 points to defeat UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout in a home triangular on Thursday (Feb. 29).

The Eagles scored 191.825 points, while the Blue Devils accumulated 189.300.

For the second time this season, the Titans set the program record on the floor exercise, scoring 48.925 total points. They added 47.950 points on the vault, a meet-high 48.250 on the uneven bars and 48.100 on the balance beam.

Mia Lucero (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) was Oshkosh's highest scorer on the vault, scoring a 9.700 to finish second on the event. Reanna McGibboney (So. • Chester Springs, Pa.) and Amaya McConkay (So. • Broken Arrow, Okla.) scored the next highest totals. McGibboney scored 9.650 points and McConkay recorded a 9.600.

Emily Buffington (Sr. • Huntersville, N.C.), Kaylie Berens (Sr. • Golden, Colo.) and McGibboney finished the uneven bars in second, third and fourth with point totals of 9.725, 9.700 and 9.650.

With a career-best score of 9.800 points, Liz Romano (Jr. • Royersford, Pa.) won the balance beam. Anna Zoromski (Sr. • Wausau) finished second-highest for Oshkosh with a 9.675 and Delaney Cienkus (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) finished third-highest by scoring 9.650 points.

Aleah Radojevich (So. • Chicago, Ill.), Cienkus and Jay Ratkowski (Fr. • Franklin) all finished the floor exercise with 9.800 points to tie for the top spot. Radojevich and Ratkowski both set career-highs. Lucero scored 9.775 points and McGibboney totaled 9.750 points. Buffington rounded out the Titans' scoring performances with a 9.725.

Buffington won the two gymnast race for the all-around title with 38.150 accumulated points. Along with a 9.725 on both the uneven bars and floor exercise, she recorded a 9.450 on the vault and a 9.250 on the balance beam.

Twenty three-time WIAC champions, the Titans will compete for their fourth consecutive WIAC Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastic Association (NCGA) West Regional (Presented by Culver's) on Saturday, March 9 at Hamline University (Minn.). The meet begins at 2 p.m. at the Hutton Arena.
