Titans Win Five Events In Dual Against Green Knights

Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez won two individual events, took third in another, and swam third on a second-place relay team

DE PERE, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving competed in a dual at St. Norbert College's Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center on Saturday (Nov. 15) and collected 19 top-three finishes including five event wins in the 111.5-166.5 loss to the Green Knights.
 
Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez (Schaumburg, Ill./Hoffman Estates) led the Titans with two wins and a third-place finish in the meet. He won the 50- and 100-yard freestyles in 22.69 and 49.94 seconds while taking third in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:52.08 finish.
 
In the breaststrokes, Damen Seremet (Beaver Dam/Beaver Dam) took first in the 100-yard (1:01.27) and second in the 200-yard (2:20.39).
 
Charlie Mason (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) collected Oshkosh's fourth individual event win with a 2:06.85 finish in the 200-yard backstroke. He also placed third in the 100-yard edition of the event with a time of 58.55 seconds.
 
Landon Bicknase (Stevens Point/SPASH) picked up a trio of top-three placements. He took second in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:36.88, third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.46, and third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:25.61.
 
Elias Landolt (McFarland/McFarland) took second and third in the distance freestyle events with a 10:52.41 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and a 5:17.50 in the 500-yard freestyle, respectively.
 
Swimming the butterfly, Julian Koller (Hartland/Arrowhead Union) swam to two third-place finishes with a 2:12.93 in the 200-yard and a 57.35 in the 100-yard.
 
Collecting third place in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke, Law Lykins (Ellijay, Ga./Gilmer) and Kayden Haxton (New Port Richey, Fla./River Ridge) swam times of 50.85 seconds and 2:13.34, respectively.
 
Jacob Gordon (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway West) scored 165.45 points in the 1-meter diving, taking second place.
 
The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of Seremet, Drew Crees (Manitowoc/Manitowoc Lincoln), Haxton, and Lykins won the event in 1:30.67 and Mason, Seremet, Ramirez-Gutierrez, and Nate Losch (Wind Lake/Muskego) finished second in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:42.39.
 
The Titans will host Lake Forest College (Ill.) at Albee Hall & Pool on Saturday (Nov. 22) at 1 p.m.
