OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh Assistant Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Darryl Sims announced on Friday (Aug. 7) that Sylviann Momont will serve as the interim head cross country coach this fall.
 
"I am excited to announce Sylviann as our interim head cross country coach," said Sims, "and I want to thank her for stepping up and into this role to support our student-athletes as we look to move forward during this transitional time."
 
Momont, who will also be entering her fifth season as an assistant coach with the track & field programs this winter, joined the staff at UW-Oshkosh as the full-time assistant coach ahead of the 2023 indoor season, focusing on the multi and high jump events.
 
"I am honored to step in as the interim head cross country coach for this upcoming season," Momont said. "I deeply appreciate Darryl and [Deputy Director of Athletics] Abby Gildernick for reaching out and providing this opportunity. Being involved with the program here at UWO for the past four seasons, I have been fortunate to build a strong foundation amongst the athletes and staff. We have an amazing cast of seasoned returners and motivated incomers that are ready to take on this upcoming season. I am excited to get to work and grow the program as we continue the search for this position after the season."
 
Momont graduated from UW-Stevens Point with her bachelor's degree in 2021 and her master's in 2022. A six-time All-American in the indoor pentathlon, outdoor heptathlon, and indoor and outdoor high jump, Momont also captured five WIAC individual titles and was named the league's field performer of the meet following the 2019 indoor championship.
