2025 Bryson Hunter Headshot

Bryson Hunter

Bryson Hunter enters his first year as an assistant coach in the UW-Oshkosh track & field program in 2025-26.

Hunter comes to UW-Oshkosh from the University of Dubuque (Iowa), where he was a graduate assistant with the Spartans’ track & field program during the 2024-25 school year. He specialized in sprints, jumps, and relays among other responsibilities that included managing recruitment efforts, directing the teams’ social media presence, and organizing Dubuque’s annual high school meets. Hunter mentored two student-athletes to All-America status in the long jump and four to All-American Rivers Conference honors including the men’s 4x400-meter relay squad that won the event at the outdoor championship this spring.

Hunter is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sport management from Dubuque.

“I would like to thank Coach Kinseth for the incredible opportunity to join a prestigious and tradition-rich program like UW-Oshkosh”, Hunter stated. “The history of success here, both on the conference and national level, speaks for itself and I am excited to contribute to that legacy. I look forward to working with an outstanding coaching staff, developing our student-athletes both on and off the track, and helping this program continue to reach new heights in the years to come.”

Hunter, a Lynchburg, Virginia native, began his collegiate career at NCAA Division I Liberty University (Va.), where he competed for the Flames in 2020 and 2021. During the 2021-22 academic year, Hunter served as a volunteer coach with Liberty Christian Academy where he coached boys and girls sprints and relays.

Hunter graduated from Eastern Mennonite University (Va.) in 2024 with his bachelor’s degree in business administration and competed in track & field for the Royals following a two-year hiatus from competing. He concluded his athletic career seven top 10 all-time performances in Eastern Mennonite history.

A USA Track & Field and U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association certified coach, Hunter graduated high school from Liberty Christian Academy in 2019.
