Chad Cook

Chad Cook was named the second head coach in the history of the UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling program on May 21, 2025.

Cook, who received his bachelor's degree from the University of Dubuque and his master's degree from Wayland Baptist University (Texas), comes to UW-Oshkosh from Fontbonne University (Mo.), where he was the head men's and women's wrestling coach from 2022-25. In St. Louis, Cook led the Griffins to their first dual wins, conference titles, and All-America performances.

Cook began his coaching career as a student assistant with the Spartans in 2012. After graduating from Dubuque, Cook was the assistant men's wrestling coach at Manchester University (Ind.) from 2014-16 and the assistant men's and women's wrestling coach at NAIA Wayland Baptist from 2016-19. At both stops, he served as the recruiting coordinator. He mentored Wayland Baptist student-athletes to the NAIA National Duals Team Championship, a fourth-place finish at the World Class Wrestling Association National Champion and coached Pioneers to 25 All-America finishes including six national champions, five World Team Trials placers and a WTT champion.

Following a year at Division II Kentucky Wesleyan University, Cook was named the head men's wrestling coach at Lyon College (Ark.) before accepting the position at Fontbonne. With the Scots, he coached national qualifiers in both seasons and assisted the women's team which won the only two individual national championships in school history.
