CJ Dwyer, who served as a part-time assistant to UW-Oshkosh head women's soccer coach Erin Coppernoll from 2021-24, is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Titans men's soccer program.
In 2021, Dwyer helped UW-Oshkosh to a 16-2-2 record, including a 7-0 mark in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, before going on to clinch the WIAC Championship title. The Titans, who completed their first unbeaten conference slate, secured both league championships in the same season for the first time in program history. The WIAC titles were UW-Oshkosh's first in the regular season since sharing the 2015 crown and its first in the postseason since 2014.
In addition to his role with the Titans, Dwyer serves as the Director of Coaching for the Fond du Lac Soccer Association, an organization that serves more than 1,500 athletes throughout the Fond du Lac area. In that position, he oversees the club’s overall soccer operations and long-term player-development philosophy across its recreational, academy, select and elite programs. His responsibilities include establishing coaching standards and curriculum, mentoring and evaluating coaches, overseeing player evaluations and team formation, supporting training and match preparation, and creating year-round development opportunities for athletes and staff.
Dwyer spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as a graduate assistant coach with the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer program. Dwyer helped the Warriors to a 9-8-5 record in 2016, including a 1-0 victory over nationally ranked Concordia University Wisconsin, and a berth in the championship match of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament.
During his tenure as a part-time assistant coach at UW-Oshkosh, Dwyer was employed as the Sports & Recreation Coordinator for the Appleton YMCA.
Dwyer previously held coaching positions with Menomonee Falls High School, Oshkosh United Soccer Club, and the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program. He is the owner of a "C" coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation.
Dwyer graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
Dwyer, a 2011 Menomonee Falls High School graduate, earned a master's degree in leadership and innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 2018. His education also includes a six-month sports performance internship at Purdue University (Ind.) in 2016.
