Garry Maynard enters his fourth season in 2027 as UW-Oshkosh baseball’s top assistant coach. Maynard, who serves as the program’s recruiting coordinator, works primarily with hitters and infielders.

Last season, the Titans went 16-23 (12-16 WIAC) with four All-WIAC selections, including first team member Logan Schill. Schill ranked in the top 10 in the WIAC in triples (2), on-base percentage (.450) and on-base plus slugging (1.002). He stole a team-high 23 bases, the fifth-most in the league, and was hit by 16 pitches, the third-most. Honorable mention Braydon Skenandore finished the season with the third-highest batting average in the conference at .377.

In 2024, Maynard helped guide Oshkosh (35-16, 20-8 WIAC) to the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time since 2018. After a 13-3 start to the season that extended into league play, the Titans won 16 of their 24 games down the stretch and secured the No. 3 seed in the WIAC Tournament. They defeated nationally ranked UW-La Crosse (15-4) UW-Platteville (15-5), in their first two games and advanced to the tournament championship, eventually pushing eventual national champion UW-Whitewater to a second game before qualifying for the national tournament as an at-large bid. Oshkosh defeated University of Chicago (Ill.), 34-8, in the opening game of the Saint Peter Regional and beat host Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.), 15-10, to earn its spot in the regional championship. Bouncing back from a 7-3 loss in the first championship game, the Titans won, 10-2, over Chicago in the second to secure the 18th regional crown in program history. The Titans once again faced UW-Whitewater in the super regional round and again forced a second championship game, ending their season the furthest in seven years. Ten Titans were named All-WIAC with three first team selections, four were tabbed for D3baseball.com All-Region honors

Maynard came to UW-Oshkosh from Concordia University-Chicago (Ill.) where he served as a graduate assistant coach, focusing on outfield and hitting. He is a 2023 graduate of Concordia-Chicago and played for the Cougars from 2020-23, earning numerous accolades, including Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athlete, NACC All-Conference First and Second Team honors, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, and American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region Third Team.
