Justin Kinseth is entering his ninth season as head coach of the UW-Oshkosh men's and women's track & field teams in 2025-26.
Kinseth, the 2020 NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, has helped 30 Titan men to a total of 46 indoor All-America honors and 22 Titans to a total of 41 outdoor All-American awards. Kinseth was also named the 2022 Division III North Region Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA and helped Oshkosh earn both the 2022 WIAC Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year honors after clinching league titles.
Kinseth’s Oshkosh men have accumulated 132 indoor All-Region awards, 121 outdoor All-Region honors, 23 WIAC indoor individual titles, 26 WIAC outdoor individual championships and six WIAC outdoor relay crowns.
Kinseth’s women’s program has produced three NCAA Division III outdoor individual champions, 18 Division III indoor All-Americans, 17 outdoor All-Americans, 70 Division III All-Region indoor performances, 46 All-Region outdoor efforts, 18 WIAC indoor individual champions, 23 WIAC outdoor individual champions and one WIAC indoor relay winner.
Men's Track & Field
Last season Kinseth and the Titan men finished as the runner-up at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship and fifth at the national outdoor meet. Oshkosh also placed second at the WIAC Indoor Championship and third at the conference outdoor meet. The Titans produced six All-America efforts at the Division III Indoor Championship, including repeat long jump individual champion Joshua Rivers. Rivers went on to be named Division III Field Athlete of the Year and Outstanding Field Performer at the NCAA Indoor Championship after being tabbed Division III North Region Field Athlete of the Year. Oshkosh then had eight total All-Americans en route to its fifth-place finish at the Division III Outdoor Championship. Rivers once again claimed the long jump title while Charlie Nolan won the decathlon national championship. The Titan men combined for 38 All-Region accolades (18 indoors, 20 outdoors), eight WIAC individual titles (four indoors, four outdoors) and one outdoor relay championship.
In 2023-24 the Oshkosh men finished second at the Division III Outdoor Championship after placing third at the national indoor meet, marking the first time since 2013-14 that the program earned a top-four trophy at both national championships. Oshkosh’s 51 points at the Division III Indoor Championship were the most in school history while its 48 points at the national outdoor meet tied for the program’s second best showing. The Titans were runners-up at both the WIAC indoor and outdoor meets. Oshkosh produced 10 All-America efforts indoors, including long jump champion Joshua Rivers, on the way to establishing the school record with 51 points. Rivers again won the long jump national title outdoors as part of seven individual All-America performances and one All-American relay. The Titans compiled 34 total All-Region awards (14 indoors, 20 outdoors), eight total WIAC individual champions (three indoors, five outdoors) and one outdoor relay title. Oshkosh’s Sylviann Momont was named NCAA Division III North Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Titan Cavan Dobberstein was voted WIAC Indoor Newcomer of the Year before Rashaad Henderson was tabbed WIAC Max Sparger Outdoor Scholar-Athlete of the year.
During the 2022-23 men’s campaign, Kinseth guided Oshkosh to runner-up finishes at both the WIAC indoor and outdoor meets. The Titans went on to place fifth at the Division III Indoor Championship and 13th at outdoor nationals. Oshkosh had five indoor All-Americans, including back-to-back triple jump winner Jonathan Wilburn. Five individuals and one relay achieved All-America status outdoors. The Titans produced 37 total All-Region accolades (16 indoors, 21 outdoors), nine total WIAC individual champions (five indoors, four outdoors) and one outdoor relay title. Oshkosh’s Jamyle Brantley was selected WIAC Max Sparger Indoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
In 2021-22 Kinseth and the men's program swept both the WIAC Indoor and Outdoor Championship titles for the first time in school history. The Titans went on to finish 10th at the indoor and outdoor Division III Championships. During the indoor season, Oshkosh featured five individual conference champions, 27 All-Region performers and three All-Americans, including triple jump winner Jonathan Wilburn, who was tabbed Outstanding NCAA Division III Championship Field Performer of the Meet. In the outdoor season Kinseth's squad collected four WIAC individual titles, a league relay championship, 24 All-Region citations and All-America efforts in eight events. The Titans also established school indoor record in the 60-meter dash and triple jump in addition to outdoor program records in the 100-meter dash, 400-meter relay and 1,600-meter relay.
During the 2021-22 season, Kinseth's Oshkosh men finished third at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship after placing third at the WIAC Championship. The third-place, 48-point performance at the national meet marked the program's best showing at the event since also taking third with 51.5 points in 2013. Both the Division III and WIAC Outdoor Championships were canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Titans had six WIAC outdoor event winners and nine All-Americans.
In 2020-21 Kinseth garnered national Coach of the Year honors after leading the Titans among the top teams in the USTFCCCA poll for a majority of the indoor season until the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the Division III Championship. The outdoor track & field portion of the Titan schedule was also cancelled. Kinseth, the third Titan coach to receive national indoor Coach of the Year laurels and first since 2001, guided Oshkosh to a runner-up finish at the WIAC Indoor Championship, matching the program’s best league result since winning the 2001 title. Oshkosh registered 13 All-Midwest Region performances during the indoor season and claimed a pair of WIAC indoor titles.
During the 2019-20 campaign, Kinseth and the Titan men placed fourth at the Division III Outdoor Championship and ninth at the national indoor meet. Oshkosh’s fourth-place effort marked the seventh top-four outdoor trophy in program history. The Titans also finished second at both the WIAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Oshkosh produced six All-American performances at the Division III Outdoor Championship after recording four All-America awards indoors. Oshkosh’s Ryan Powers, who claimed conference indoor titles in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter run, was tabbed 2019 Division III Midwest Region Track Athlete of the Year and Outstanding WIAC Championship Track Athlete.
In his debut season with the Oshkosh men's track & field team, Kinseth led the Titans to a 26th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship and a 28th-place result at the national indoor meet. Kinseth and the Titans also placed fifth at the WIAC Outdoor Championship and sixth at the league's indoor championship. Kinseth helped five Titans achieve a total of seven All-America accolades.
Women's Track & Field
Last season Kinseth and the Titan women finished 13th at the Division III Indoor Championship, 12th at the national outdoor meet, and fourth at both the indoor and outdoor WIAC Championships. Oshkosh produced six total All-America performances (three indoors, three outdoors) in addition to 17 All-Region accolades (seven indoors, 10 outdoors) and seven WIAC individual titles (two indoors, five outdoors). Megan Hunt was named the Outstanding WIAC Indoor Championship Field Performer for the second straight season after winning both the long jump and pentathlon. Brenna Masloroff, the WIAC Judy Kruckman Indoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year, garnered WIAC Outstanding WIAC Outdoor Championship Field Performer honors after defending her hammer throw title.

Megan Hunt was named Outstanding WIAC Indoor Championship Performer and won the pentathlon title. Cyna Madigan was tabbed WIAC Outdoor Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

In 2021-22 Kinseth's women's program finished third at both the WIAC indoor and outdoor meets before going on to place 25th at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship and 41st at the outdoor national championship. The Titans produced two indoor All-American performances, two outdoor All-American efforts, 12 indoor All-Region citations, six outdoor All-Region awards, three WIAC individual indoor champions and five WIAC individual outdoor champions. Oshkosh's Emma Warr was tabbed the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's indoor track & field. Eamon McKenna was voted Division III North Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Oshkosh also established program records in the indoor 1,000-meter run, indoor 60-meter hurdles and outdoor 10,000-meter run.
During the 2020-21 season, Kinseth and the Titans placed seventh at the Division III Outdoor Championship after finishing fourth at the conference meet. The Titans' 31 points at the outdoor championship were their most since scoring 63 during a runner-up showing at the 2014 national meet. Oshkosh's fourth-place performance at the WIAC Outdoor Championship was its best since taking second in 2016. The national and league indoor meets were both canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Sydney Thompson, the 2021 WIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year, and Alexandria Demco both secured a pair of individual conference titles for the Titans. Thompson went on to win the discus and shot put championships at the national meet to account for 20 of the squad's 31 points.

The Titans claimed three event champions at the conference indoor meet and a trio of All-Midwest Region awards before the Division III Championship was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, which also forced the cancellation of the entire outdoor portion of the Oshkosh 2020 schedule.
During the 2018-19 campaign, Kinseth’s women’s squad placed 23rd at the Division III Outdoor Championship and 27th at the national indoor meet. Oshkosh’s Lauren Wrensch won the Division III outdoor long jump title to become the second Titan to win the event and first since 1989. The Titans also had a pair of indoor All-Americans and five total WIAC individual event wins, including four by Wrensch, as Oshkosh finished fourth at the league indoor championship and fifth at the conference outdoor meet.
In his first season with the Oshkosh women's track & field team, Kinseth guided the Titans to a 50th-place finish at the Division III Indoor Championship and a 59th-place result at the national outdoor meet. Kinseth and the Titans also placed third at the WIAC Indoor Championship and sixth at the league's outdoor meet. Kinseth helped two Titans reach All-America status, including Cheyenne Moore, who became the program’s third recipient of the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Women’s Track Athlete of the Year award.
Kinseth came to UW-Oshkosh from Benedictine University (Ill.), where he served as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, and director of strength and conditioning for the men’s and women’s track & field teams.
After joining Benedictine University in 2015, Kinseth helped coach the men's track & field team to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference indoor and outdoor titles in both 2016 and 2017.
In his two-plus years at Benedictine University, Kinseth coached and developed more than 20 NCAA Division III postseason qualifiers, including several All-Americans. Kinseth also coordinated recruiting efforts that saw more than 40 new student-athletes enroll at Benedictine University each year.
With Kinseth’s assistance, the Benedictine University men’s team achieved its first top-25 ranking from the USTFCCCA. The squad was ranked 77th in 2015 before ascending to third in the national poll in 2017.
Kinseth was named the 2017 USTFCCCA Men’s NCAA Division III Assistant Coach of the Year following both the indoor and outdoor national championships. He was also selected the 2017 Men’s NCAA Division III Midwest Region Indoor and Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year.
During 2017, Kinseth helped Benedictine place fourth at the Division III men’s outdoor championship. He coached student-athletes to titles in the triple jump and the 400-meter relay while tutoring the national runner-up in the long jump.
Prior to his tenure at Benedictine University, Kinseth was an assistant track & field and cross country coach at Cardinal Stritch University for two years. His recruiting helped bring in 30 student-athletes to the men’s team while helping double the women's roster in just one season.
Kinseth competed in both football and track & field for Wartburg College (Iowa). He was a wide receiver for the Knights in 2009, when the football team won the American Rivers Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinals.
Kinseth was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Wartburg College track & field team. He helped the Knights win the 2012 ARC indoor and 2013 ARC outdoor titles while competing in the javelin and the multi events.
Kinseth earned his bachelor’s and master's degree from Wartburg College and Cardinal Stritch University, respectively.
