Box Score

Evan Maly (Jr. • Neenah) scored with just over seven minutes to play as the UW-Oshkosh men's soccer team edged The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.), 1-0, on Sunday (Oct. 10) in Duluth, Minn.

Maly tallied his decisive goal off a pass from Jack Borski (Sr. • Madison) with 7:06 remaining in regulation. Maly's goal, his second of the season, came on his only shot of the contest.

UW-Oshkosh (13-0-1) allowed The College of St. Scholastica (10-3-1) just one shot, a second-half header by Jermaine Dacres. The stingy defensive effort helped the Titans record their 10th shutout in 11 matches and 12th of the season.

UW-Oshkosh, ranked 13th in the NCAA Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, totaled 12 shots. The Titans were led by the three shots of Brandon Briones (Sr. • Menasha) and two each of Robby Giljohann (Jr. • Pewaukee), Ryan Hanna (Fr. • Verona) and Nick Laubenstein (Fr. • Howard).

The College of St. Scholastica, which played a man down for the final 30 minutes of action due to a second yellow card violation, posted 10-4 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper James Pike (Jr. • Wauwatosa) saved one shot en route to his sixth shutout of the season. Sam Reed had three saves in the goalkeeping loss for The College of St. Scholastica.

This was the first-ever contest between UW-Oshkosh and The College of St. Scholastica. The loss snaps an 11-game unbeaten streak for the Saints, who had not allowed a goal in their previous five matches.

UW-Oshkosh concludes a string of six straight road matches when it plays at Concordia University Wisconsin on Thursday (Oct. 14).
