Box Score Daniel Fisher (Fr. • Middleton) scored the only goal, while James Pike (Sr. • Wauwatosa) saved five shots, to give UW-Oshkosh a 1-0 men's soccer victory over The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) on Sunday (Oct. 9) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
Fisher's tally just 19 seconds before halftime (44:41) ended a scoreless streak of 429 minutes for the Titans (6-4-2). His 20-yard shot from the center of the field was all that UW-Oshkosh needed in the match. Jonathan Fox (Fr. • Brooklyn) and Erik White (So. • East Troy) earned assists on the play.
Pike went the distance to record his 18th career shutout. St. Scholastica (9-2-1) appeared to tie the game in the second half, but Andrew Jenkins' goal was negated by an offside violation.
Jenkins and Joe Watt each fired three of the Saints' 14 shots. UW-Oshkosh also totaled 14 shots, with five coming from Ryan Hanna (So. • Verona) and three by Fisher. The Titans owned a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Sam Reed posted seven saves while allowing one goal for St. Scholastica. The Saints lost their only other meeting with UW-Oshkosh during 2010 by a 1-0 score.
The Titans hit the road to take on Saint Mary's University on Friday (Oct. 14) in Winona, Minn.
