UW-Oshkosh's Mark Choinski earned WIAC Wrestler of the Week recognition for his performance in events held Nov. 14-20.

Choinski defeated all five of his 157-pound opponents and concluded the week with a second-place finish at the Concordia University Wisconsin Open.

In UW-Oshkosh's 18-16 win over UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 15, Choinski closed the Titans' deficit to 10-9 with his pin of Connor Hansen in 1:05.

Competing at the Concordia University Wisconsin Open on Nov. 19, Choinski finished second among 32 participants with a 4-0 record.

Choinski reached the championship contest of his weight class by sticking UW-Whitewater's Austin Quartullo to the mat in 3:27. Choinski was unable to wrestle Wartburg College's (Iowa) Logan Thomsen in the title match due to an injury.

Choinski's other three victories at the Concordia University Wisconsin Open included pins of Lakeland University's Marcus McCauley in 2:50 and Wheaton College's (Ill.) Frank Aiello in 3:27.
