EAU CLAIRE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team traveled north to Eau Claire on Wednesday night (Oct. 30) to face its second of three consecutive
nationally ranked opponents in No. 24 UW-Eau Claire.

The No. 6 Titans (23-4, 5-1 WIAC) left the Blugolds' (18-7, 3-3 WIAC) state-of-the-art Sonnentag Event Center with a 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 27-25, 23-25, 15-11), victory, extending their winning streak to a season-best 10 matches. The win is also the fourth straight over Eau Claire for Oshkosh.

Oshkosh hit .235 over the five sets with 69 kills to Eau Claire's .228 and 68. The Titans also led in aces (9-4) and digs (94-91) while the Blugolds held edges in assists (65-64) and total blocks (9-5).

Riley Kindt (Fifth • Brookfield) registered 18 kills with a hitting percentage of .387 and added three blocks, an assist, an ace, and two digs.
Sami Perlberg (So. • Chippewa Falls) hit 14 kills, adding 10 digs and two aces, followed by
Joslyn Wolff (Sr. • Reeseville) with 12 kills.

Izzy Coon (Jr. • Fond du Lac) and
Kalli Mau (Fifth • Kimberly) each reached 20 assists at 28 and 24. Coon led the Titans with four points from the service line and
Abby Fregien (Sr. • Waukesha) was one of five Titans with at least 10 digs with 22. Coon and Mau recorded 16 each and
Malia Winchel (So. • Oak Creek) recorded 11.

The Blugolds took an early 4-2 lead in the first set, but the Titans kept the game close, eventually going on a 6-0 run to grab a 16-11 edge. Kindt hit three straight kills to begin the run, followed by two from Perlberg. Oshkosh later added another six consecutive points, making the score 22-13 with four more Kindt kills, one from Wolff and an ace by Perlberg.
Olivia Breunig (Sr. • Sauk Prairie) put Oshkosh at set point and
Lauren Grier (So. • Fond du Lac) notched the 25th point with a kill.

Eau Claire was the early leader again in the second set and went on a 4-point spurt to make the score 13-9. The Blugolds never let up the rest of the set, evening the set score at 1-1.

Both teams went on runs midway through the third set, trading leads. Eau Claire went up 8-5 with two kills and two aces before Oshkosh took a 12-10 lead with six straight points. The Blugolds took on more lead in the set before an attack error handed the Titans the serve and they added five more points to make the score 20-15. Three points for Eau Claire tied the set up at 24-24, forcing extra points, and it tied it up again at 25-25.
Robyn Kirsch (Sr. • Wausau) and Kindt put Oshkosh ahead with back-to-back kills for the set win.

The Blugolds tied the set score again in the fourth in the same way they took the second. They took an early lead and held the Titans to small leads in the middle of the set. Down 22-17, Oshkosh pulled ahead by a point with six straight before Eau Claire scored three times, tying the set score at 2-2.

In the fifth set, the WIAC foes remained close until Wolff started a 4-point streak that pushed the Titans past the halfway point at 9-6. Eau Claire scored two straight points two more times, but could not overcome the deficit.

The Titans will head to Stevens Point to face the No. 18 nationally ranked University of Chicago (Ill.) (20-7, 3-4 UAA) in a neutral site match at 5 p.m. at Shirley Enger Court at Berg Gym. They then return to Kolf Sports Center on Friday, Nov. 8 for the regular season finale against UW-River Falls (11-19, 1-5 WIAC) at 7 p.m.
