OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling team opened its inaugural home schedule on Saturday (Nov. 16) for the Titans Duals in the fieldhouse at Kolf Sports Center, facing Aurora University (Ill.) and UW-Stevens Point.
Annesley Day pinned both of her opponents on the day.
Between the two duals, the Titans collected eight individual match wins, including five by fall.
Oshkosh started its day against the Spartans when it won four of the ten matches, falling 25-20.
Savannah Danielson (Fr. • Wausau) defeated QianXi Brooks by a 10-0 technical fall at 110-lbs for the program's first home victory. The Titans won the following two matches at 117- and 124-lbs when
Aliana Rauter (Fr. • Milwaukee) posted a fall in 1:22 and Day (Fr. • Round Rock Texas) pinned her opponent in 1:58. After four wins for Aurora,
Alivia Davey (Fr. • Berlin) won the 207-lb bout by forfeit.
Two exhibition matches were wrestled against the Spartans.
Paige Haaf (Fr. • St. Croix Falls) pinned Natalie Gonzalez in 2:01 at 131-lbs while
Keara Micek (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) was pinned.
The Titans second dual of the day was against the Pointers. It was another close match with Oshkosh losing by a score of 27-20.
Danielson posted her second win of the day at 110-lbs, this time by a 1:42 fall over Alaina Sunlin. Day earned another pin at 124-lbs at 2:58 before
TaHonesty Donnell (Fr. • Milwaukee) was awarded a forfeit win at 145-lbs. With an opponent to wrestle at 207-lbs this time, Davey pinned Teagan McKinnie in just 44 seconds.
The Titans will return to the mat on Thursday (Nov. 21), matching up with Carthage College at 5 p.m.
