OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team (3-14-2, 2-6-0 WIAC) faced UW-Platteville (14-2-4, 5-0-3 WIAC) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 2) for the final game of the season and Senior Day. The Titans, ahead 1-0 at halftime, lost 2-1 as the Pioneers scored twice in the back half of the match.

Oshkosh was out shot 23-8 by Platteville and 14-5 in shot on goal. Platteville attempted six corners to Oshkosh's four and the Titans committed 18 to the Pioneers' nine.Â

Of the Titans' eight shots, four of them were split between
Ryley Meenk (Fr. • Waukesha) and
Greta Steines (So. • Eau Claire). Each took a shot on goal, joined by
Rosie Rojewski (Sr. • Cary, Ill.),
Gabby Born (Jr. • Fond du Lac), and
Brynn Higgins (Jr. • Oswego, Ill.). Goalkeeper
Emma Sauriol (Sr. • New Lenox, Ill.) had a solid outing in the net, recording 12 saves on 14 shots faced. Sauriol finished her career with 203 saves, becoming the fourth Titan to pass 200 in program history.

Oshkosh struck first in the 17th minute, with a goal off the head of Meenk and assisted by Steines, to put the Titans ahead 1-0. The Pioneers stormed back into the match in the second half and equalized in the 56th minute with a goal from Anna Lombardi. The two teams then went back and forth, until Platteville stole the lead in the 88th minute, when Lombardi scored on a penalty kick.
