OSHKOSH, Wis.- Three members of the UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team reached double-digit points as the Titans defeated Edgewood College, 72-59, at Kolf Sports Center on Tuesday (Nov. 26).

The Titans (5-1) shot 47.5 percent (29-of-61) from the field, including 36.8 percent (7-of-19), and made seven free throws, while holding the Eagles (1-3) to 32.8 percent (22-of-67) from the field and 25 percent (7-of-28) from beyond the arc. 42 of Oshkosh's points came in the paint and 17 were scored on fast breaks. Edgewood scored 26 of its points in the paint and 31 on second chances.

Michael Metcalf-Grassman (So. • Shawano/Waukesha) turned in another double-double with a team high 24 points (9-of-17 from the field, 1-of-2 from three, 5-of-6 from the line) and 12 rebounds. He was joined with at least 10 points by
Joey LaChapell (Fr. • Appleton), who went 7-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-6 from three, and
Jonah Rindfleisch's (Sr. • Milwaukee) 11-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Neither team scored more than three baskets in a row for the entire first half and the largest lead was owned by Edgewood at 7-2 when it responded to Rindfleisch's opening basket with a layup, a field goal, and a 3-pointer. UW-Oshkosh took its third lead of the game with 1:31 remaining on a Metcalf-Grassman layup. He converted a fastbreak layup to extend the Titans' lead to 32-28 with just over a minute before halftime. The Eagles outscored Oshkosh the rest of the of the way and the score sat at 33-32 in UW-Oshkosh's favor after 20 minutes of play.

The Titans led by five points early in the second half before Edgewood fought back and reclaimed the lead for the final time with a three at 12:54.
Nate Nazos (Fr. • Batavia, Ill.) capped off a 9-0 run with a 3-pointer, which gave UW-Oshkosh an 8-point edge after 10 minutes. Edgewood made a three and Oshkosh went on another extended spurt, this time holding the Eagles scoreless for three and-a-half minutes while adding 11 points to the scoresheet. Metcalf-Grassman scored four points and LaChapell tallied seven in the run. Another Nazos 3-pointer pushed the deficit to a game high 17 points with 4:10 left in regulation. Edgewood decreased Oshkosh's lead to as few as 10 points, however the Titans scored five more points in the last four minutes and earned their fifth-straight win by a margin of 13 points.
The Titans next head west to face Ripon College (2-3) on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. UW-Oshkosh and the Red Hawks have played each other in each of the last three seasons. Oshkosh won two of the three matchups and scored more than 80 points in both contests.
