PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The UW-Oshkosh men's wrestling team competed in the Muskie Scramble hosted by Lakeland University on Saturday (Nov. 9).
JP Culver (So. • Vicksburg, Mich.) finished fourth in the 125-lb. A bracket, going 1-2. Culver defeated Nick Needham from Ellsworth Community College in a 15-0 technical fall.
Logan Harel (Jr. • Cadott) and
Brody Toledo (Fr. • Burlington) finished in third and fourth in the 141-lb. bracket. Harel went 2-1, while Toledo went 1-2. Harel defeated Gavin Enders of Harper College with a fall in 0:52, and defeated Toledo for third place. Toledo defeated Lucas Schanen of Lakeland with a fall in 1:38.
Logan Andrews (Fr. • Wauconda, Ill.) finished fifth in the 149-lb. A bracket, going 1-2 and defeating Rusimbana Budederi of Concordia University Wisconsin with a fall in 0:54.
Leonardo Ruggiero (So. • Rome, Italy) was the lone Titan to win his bracket, defeating all four of his opponents to finish 4-0 on the day. He won his first three matches by decisions of 7-4, 6-1, and 4-3, and won his final match with a fall in 5:51 over William Harrier of Concordia Wisconsin.
Jacob Hibbard (Fr. • Mishicot) finished fourth in the 157-lb. A bracket, going 1-3.
Kyle Rasper (So. • Johnsburg, Ill.) placed sixth in the 174-lb. A bracket, finishing 0-3.
Elijah Matzke (Fr. • Rochester, Minn.) placed fifth in the 174-lb. B bracket, going 1-3 and defeating Brandon Montiero of Concordia Wisconsin in a major decision of 9-0.
Vincent Bird (Fr. • Oshkosh) finished third in the 184-lb. B bracket, going 1-3 with a win over Colin Duren of Milwaukee School of Engineering with a fall in 2:05.
Desmond Walker (Fr. • Oshkosh) placed seventh in the 197-lb. bracket, going 1-3 with a win over Evan Kachigian with a technical fall of 17-2. In the 285-lb. A bracket,
Garth Martell (Fr. • Oshkosh) took second and
Camden Harms (So. • Mahomet, Ill.) took third. Both Titans finished 2-1, with Harms winning his final match over Mason Kochersperger of Carthage College with a fall in 2:57.
Brodie Driessen (So. • West Allis) finished second in 285B bracket, going 3-1 with two falls. He defeated Aiden Hinchee of Harper College in 1:14, and Chris Gielow of Carthage College in 0:23.
The Titans return next Thursday (Nov. 14) as they travel to Eau Claire for their first WIAC matchup of the season. The Titans and Blugolds will compete for the annual Chancellor's Cup.
