WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis.- The University of Northwestern (Minn.) was held to a quarter-high of 11 points by UW-Oshkosh women's basketball on Saturday (Dec. 21), registering 35 across the contest while the Titans scored 79 for their ninth straight win.

Saturday's game was the final of four in the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic held at JustAGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.

UW-Oshkosh (9-0) recorded a 50 percent (31-of-62) clip from the field with 33.3 percent (9-of-27) from three and 80 percent (8-of-10) from the line, leading in all three categories. The Titans dominated under the basket by out-rebounding the Eagles (4-5) by a 45 to 19 margin, the most since recording 46 at Roanoke College. (Va.) on Dec. 20, 2022.

The Titans also led 17 to seven in assists, 36 to 12 in bench points, three to one in blocks, nine to three in steals, 20 to two in points off turnovers, 38 to 14 in points in the paint, and 13 to two in second chance points.

Alex Rondorf (Gr. • West Bend) scored a team-high 15 points off the bench, going 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-9 from beyond the arc. She also registered seven rebounds, a pair of steals, and a block.

Also over 10 points was
Kayce Vaile (Fifth • Greendale) at 14. She sunk both of her free throw attempts and went 6-of-11 from the field. Vaile also paced the field with nine rebounds (three offensive).

Sammi Beyer (So. • Appleton) recorded six assists, followed by
Paige Seckar (Fr. • Oshkosh) and
Mallory Lindsey (Jr. • Mineral Point) with two each.

Avery Poole (Jr. • Cottage Grove) scored a layup nine seconds into the game and UW-Oshkosh never trailed. Rondorf turned in a three and a jumper and
Kate Huml (Jr. • Janesville) scored two points of her own to put the Titans up 9-0 before Northwestern scored for the first time. The Titans extended their lead to 18-7 on a 7-0 run that they followed up with the final eight points of the quarter, leading 28-10.

UW-Oshkosh never allowed the Eagles to score more than two consecutive points throughout the second quarter and while its longest run through the middle of the period was four points, tallied eight to close out the half on three straight layups by Vaile and a Rondorf three with four seconds to go. Northwestern was looking to score for the first time in two-and-a-half-minutes as time expired, however Rondorf stole the ball and sent the teams to their locker rooms with the score at 50-21.

The Eagles did not score until nearly half of the third quarter had ticked off the clock while Oshkosh had added five points to its total. Later in the quarter the teams traded baskets on four consecutive possessions for the first time since the end of the first quarter, wrapped up at the 44-second mark by Rondorf with a layup.
Mallory Hoitink (So. • Hartford) went up for a shot and was fouled before the end of the period and sunk both free throws, increasing Oshkosh's edge to 63-30.

The fourth quarter saw long breaks between scores and the teams traded the first seven baskets of the period by 4:29 remaining. UW-Oshkosh held a monopoly on scoring in the back half of the final quarter, scoring on an

The Titans will host the annual BSN Winter Classic with men's basketball, next Sunday and Monday (Dec. 29-30). UW-Oshkosh will face receiving votes/No. 18 nationally ranked Trine University (Ind.) (8-1, 2-0 MIAA) at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 and Marian University (3-5, 1-1 NACC) at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.
