OSHKOSH, Wis.- Shannon Walsh (So. • Des Plaines, Ill.) recorded her first career goal as the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team defeated St. Norbert College 1-0 at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Monday night (Sept. 16).

The Titans (1-5-1) shot nine times with four on goal while the Green Knights (1-2-0) shot 18 (nine on goal). Goalkeeper
Emma Sauriol (Sr. • New Lenox, Ill.) saved six shots on goal and allowed none to pass her.
Molly Jackson (Sr. • Appleton),
Laney Wiebel (Fr. • Oshkosh) and
Lauren Janssens (Jr. • Oregon) also registered shots on goal in the contest.

In the first half, neither team scored with St. Norbert shooting three times on goal and Oshkosh shot on goal once.

The Titans kicked shots twice in the first three minutes of the second half, however neither found the back of the net. The Green Knights then recorded seven shots (two on goal) over the next 14 minutes. In the 70th minute, a corner kick ended up in front of the goal and Wiebel booted the ball back to a waiting Walsh, who knocked the ball off the crossbar and into the net.

St. Norbert outshot Oshkosh 3-1 in the last 20 minutes of the match and Janssens shot on goal in the 87th minute, however neither team scored and the Titans earned their first win of the season.

UW-Oshkosh wraps up its homestand on Saturday (Sept. 21), hosting the University of Dubuque (Iowa) (3-1-1) at 5 p.m. in the second annual 151 Derby.
