OSHKOSH, Wis. - The UW-Oshkosh men's wrestling team fell to WIAC rival UW-Whitewater, 55-0, on Saturday (Jan. 4). The Warhawks won all ten matches, winning one by forfeit, five by fall, three by technical fall, and one by major decision.
Logan Harel (Jr. • Cadott) lost his match by major decision, 15-4, against Whitewater's Cale Stonitsch in the 141-lb match.
Ryan Bergman (Fr. • Watertown) made it to the third period against Whitewater's Brayden Peet before losing by technical fall 22-6 in the 165-lb. match.
Kyle Rasper (So. • Johnsburg, Ill.) and
JP Culver (So. • Vicksburg, Mich.) also lost by technical fall, each losing 17-1. Rasper made it to the second period in the 174-lb. match, while Culver was defeated in the first period of the 125-lb. match.
Leonardo Ruggiero (So. • Rome, Italy) lost by fall in the 149-lb. match,
Jacob Hibbard (Fr. • Mishicot) in the 157-lb. match,
Elijah Matzke (Fr. • Rochester, Minn.) in the 184-lb. match,
Vincent Bird (Fr. • Oshkosh) in the 197-lb. match, and
Camden Harms (So. • Mahomet, Ill.) in the 285-lb. match.
The Titans move to 0-6 on the year, and 0-4 in the WIAC. The Titans return next Thursday (Jan. 9) against UW-Platteville at home.
