OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's soccer took down UW-River Falls at home on Saturday (Nov. 1), 2-0, to wrap up its regular season slate.
 
The Titans have now won seven of the last eight contests against the Falcons, including five consecutive wins.
 
The Titans (6-6-5, 2-4-1 WIAC) took 13 shots (six on goal) to River Falls' (12-5-2, 3-3-1 WIAC) 10 (three on goal). Oshkosh also led, 5-3, on corner kicks. In the match, there were 27 total fouls with 16 belonging to Oshkosh and the other 11 to River Falls.
 
Maddie Daigle (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy) scored her first career goal in white and gold when she found the back of the net in the 56th minute. Daigle was assisted by 
Gabby Born (Fond du Lac/Fond du Lac) and 
Alexa Schorr (Batavia, Ill./Batavia). Oshkosh's second goal came in the 62nd minute from 
Maris Heun (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer), who was assisted by 
Greta Steines (Eau Claire/Eau Claire Memorial).
 
Ella Duckmann (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) attempted three shots with one on goal while Schorr and 
Shannon Walsh (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) each put one of their two shots on goal.
 
Goalkeeper 
Mallory Kerhin (Green Bay/Green Bay Southwest) recorded her sixth shutout of the year and saved three shots on goal during the match.
 
River Falls got the match going by taking the first shot on goal in the 11th minute that was saved by Kerhin.
 
Schorr took the Titans' first shot of the match in the 20th minute, but the attempt at an early edge was thwarted by the Falcons' keeper. 
Ella Duckmann (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) followed with her own attempt on goal two minutes later and shot off target in the 25th minute.
 
Shannon Walsh (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) tried her luck in the 38th minute but was again stopped by the Falcons.
 
Kerhin recorded her second save in the 45th minute to send the teams into the break knotted at 0-0.
 
The first shot of the second half was a goal for the Titans in the 56th minute. Daigle scored the go-ahead goal four yards outside of the goal box and put it into the top right corner to give the Titans a 1-0 lead. She was assisted by Born and Schorr.
 
Ariana Gonzalez (Appleton/Appleton North) looked to stretch the Titans' lead in the 60th minute, but River Falls' keeper came up her fourth save.
 
In the 62nd minute, Heun found the back of the net with a shot three yards outside of the goal box into the top right corner of the goal after being assisted by Steines, stretching Oshkosh's lead to 2-0.
 
River Fallas took its best attempt at cutting into the lead in the 84th minute, and Kerhin came up with her third and final save.
 
The Titans have the potential to be back out on the pitch for the quarterfinal round of the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) after Saturday's win, depending on the outcome of the match between UW-Stout and UW-Stevens Point. If the Pointers win or tie, the Titans will head on the road to face the third seed in the conference tournament.
