STEVENS POINT, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling claimed three top-four finishes at the season-opening UW-Stevens Point Pointer Open on Saturday (Nov. 1). The meet was non-scoring, however the Titans combined for eight wins across the mats.

Myra Bair (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) led the Titans in the gold bracket with a consolation bracket win at 103-lbs. over Bentley Hills from Upper Iowa University. She pinned the Peacock in 3:56.

Oshkosh also had five wrestlers compete in the purple brackets on Saturday, earning a third-place finish and a pair of fourth-place finishes.

Isabel Paz (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) bounced back from a first round loss at 110-pounds to Wartburg College's (Iowa) Chloe Sheffield by earning an 11-0 technical fall victory over Grace Murphy from the University of Dubuque (Iowa). In the third-place match, she beat fellow Titan Evelyn Hurley (Peshtigo/Peshtigo) by a 10-point shutout technical fall. Hurley reached the third-place match by defeating Leslie Guzman from Illinois Wesleyan University.

At 117-pounds, Haley Dezelske (Holmen/Holmen) pinned UW-Oshkosh's Allison Weiss (Holmen/Holmen), Manchester University's (Ind.) The third Titan to qualify for the third-place match, she dropped the matchup by technical fall to settle for fourth.
