STEVENS POINT, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling claimed three top-four finishes at the season-opening UW-Stevens Point Pointer Open on Saturday (Nov. 1). The meet was non-scoring, however the Titans combined for eight wins across the mats.

Myra Bair (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) led the Titans in the gold bracket with a consolation bracket win at 103-lbs. over Bentley Hills from Upper Iowa University. She pinned the Peacock in 3:56.

Kaije Youngstrom (Crystal River, Fla./Crystal River),
Aliana Rauter (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan),
Mya Delleree (Fredonia/Ozaukee), and
Ella Creighton (Lake Geneva/Badger) also competed in gold brackets, however they all lost their first two matches at 117, 124, 131, and 180-pounds, respectively.

Oshkosh also had five wrestlers compete in the purple brackets on Saturday, earning a third-place finish and a pair of fourth-place finishes.

Isabel Paz (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) bounced back from a first round loss at 110-pounds to Wartburg College's (Iowa) Chloe Sheffield by earning an 11-0 technical fall victory over Grace Murphy from the University of Dubuque (Iowa). In the third-place match, she beat fellow Titan
Evelyn Hurley (Peshtigo/Peshtigo) by a 10-point shutout technical fall. Hurley reached the third-place match by defeating Leslie Guzman from Illinois Wesleyan University.

At 117-pounds,
Haley Dezelske (Holmen/Holmen) pinned UW-Oshkosh's
Allison Weiss (Holmen/Holmen), Manchester University's (Ind.) Jillian Donnelly, and Illinois Wesleyan's Evelynn Garcia to work her way through the consolation bracket after losing by technical fall in the first round. The third Titan to qualify for the third-place match, she dropped the matchup by technical fall to settle for fourth.

Allison Weiss (Holmen/Holmen) earned a win by fall over Meredith Gumz from Augustana College (Ill.) in the 117-pound bracket in 1:38 and
Mackenzie Stanton (New Berlin/New Berlin) was pinned in both of her matches at 180-pounds as the other wrestlers in the purple edition of the weight classes.

The Titans will host their first home meet of the season on Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m. as they welcome Lakeland University to Kolf Sports Center.
