OSHKOSH, Wis.-Â UW-Oshkosh men's wrestling competed at Kolf Sports Center for the first time of the 2025-26Â season on Wednesday night (Nov. 12), facing No. 17 nationally ranked UW-Eau Claire in a WIAC dual. The Blugolds won each of the 10 scoring matches to secure the 11th edition of the Chancellors' Cup by a 49-0 score.
Starting at 149 pounds, Eau Claire won the first two bouts by at least eight points before Ryan Bergman (Watertown/Watertown) held Jonathon Harvey to a five-point edge in the 165-pound match.
Over the following seven matches, the Blugolds won by fall four times, major decision twice, and technical fall once.
Fourteen extra matches were also wrestled concurrently with the varsity matches. Oshkosh took three wins in those matches. Nick Ersland (Wisconsin Dells/Wisconsin Dells) defeated Gavin Rockey by an 8-7 decision at 125 pounds, and Nick Jenkins (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) picked up a pair of wins at 133 pounds by beating Mason Dewing, 8-6, and earning an 11-4 victory over Ryan Goddard.
The Titans will hit the mat again on Thursday, December 4 as they host UW-Stevens Point (0-0) at Kolf Sports Center for a 7 p.m. conference dual. Oshkosh is 8-35 against the Pointers since 1985-86 and 5-5 in the last 10 matchups.
