Titans To Host NCAA Women’s Volleyball Regional For Second Time In Three Years

INDIANAPOLIS- UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball secured one of 43 automatic bids to the NCAA Division III Championship by defeating UW-Eau Claire in the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) championship match and learned that it will be hosting an NCAA Regional for the second time in three years on Monday (Nov. 17) during the selection show.
 
The Titans (28-3, 7-0 WIAC), making their 21st appearance in the NCAA Championship and fourth in the last four years, will host seven teams from five different states in the three-day regional tournament at Kolf Sports Center on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (Nov. 20-22).
 
Other teams in the Oshkosh Regional that made the national tournament as conference tournament champions are Greenville University (Ill.) (24-10, 13-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), Edgewood University (25-6, 13-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference), the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) (25-6, 13-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), and Cornell College (Iowa) (19-10, 8-0 Midwest Conference).
 
Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) (23-7, 9-2 MIAC), Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) (22-8, 5-2 University Athletic Association), and the University of Dubuque (Iowa) (25-4, 8-0 American Rivers Conference) qualified for the tournament as at-large bids.
 
WashU and Saint Benedict will kick off the regional at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, followed by Dubuque and Cornell at 2 p.m. and Edgewood and Gustavus Adolphus at 4:30 p.m. The Titans will play in Thursday's fourth match at 7 p.m.
 
The winners of the WashU-Saint Benedict and Dubuque-Cornell matches play in the second round at 4:30 p.m. on Friday before the winners of the Oshkosh-Greenville and Edgewood-Gustavus Adolphus face at 7 p.m.
 
On Saturday at 5 p.m., the two second round winners face off at 5 p.m. for the right to advance to the quarterfinal round.
 
The winner of the Oshkosh Regional joins the seven other regional champions in the quarterfinal round of the 64-team NCAA Division III Championship on Wednesday, December 3 in Bloomington, Illinois. The semifinalists will play on Thursday, December 4 before the national title match is played on Saturday, December 6.
