LEXINGTON, Ky.- Samantha Perlberg (Chippewa Falls/Chippewa Falls) led UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball's three American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region 8 mentions on Wednesday (Nov. 19) with First Team status as well as Region Player of the Year.
Lauren Grier (Fond du Lac/Fond du Lac) and
Grace Juergens (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Community) also collected First Team accolades.
Grier and Juergens were both named All-Region First Team for the first time in their careers. Juergens earned All-Region Honorable Mention status at the NCAA Division II level at the University of New Haven (Conn.) in 2024. Perlberg was named to the first team in 2023 and the honorable mention team in 2024.
Perlberg, who was voted as the seventh WIAC Player of the Year in program history and the second Offensive Player of the Year since the award was split in 2014, leads the conference with 4.41 kills and 4.94 points per set while sitting ninth with a 3.47 digs per set average. The junior collected her third All-WIAC First Team award to become the 11th player in program history to be named to the team at least three times.
The owner of 16 double-doubles in the regular season, Perlberg reached 20 kills six times including a 32-kill performance at UW-Whitewater on October 29, which tied Oshkosh's single-game record.
Perlberg was also named the AVCA Division III Player of the Week on September 9 after recording 100 kills and hitting .295 as UW-Oshkosh opened its season with six straight wins. Across 11 weeks of selections, Perlberg was voted as the conference's offensive player of the week four times, including the final two weeks of the regular season.
Nationally, Perlberg ranks ninth in total points, 11th in total kills, 12th in kills per set, and 15th in points per set.
Grier recorded a WIAC-best .387 hitting percentage in league matches, tallying 58 kills on 111 total attacks and averaged the most blocks per set at 1.50. Her 12 solo blocks paced all conference blockers.
Grier had six double-digit kill performances in the regular season and notched a season-best 12 kills at Whitewater. At the net, she had nine total blocks twice, recording four solo and five assists against St. Catherine University (Minn.) on September 20 and one solo and eight against Colby College (Maine) on October 25. Grier is currently 11th in Division III with 1.26 blocks per set across all of the Titans' matches.
Recording a trio of top-10 marks in Oshkosh's seven conference matches, Juergens sat sixth with 0.38 service aces per set, eighth with 2.75 kills per set, and ninth with 3.35 points per set. With 66 kills, Juergens averaged a .226 hitting percentage against league teams and recorded 14 total 10-plus kill matches across the Titans' 29 regular season contests.
Juergens recorded her first of eight double-doubles against Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) at Kolf Sports Center on September 5 and was named the WIAC Kwik Trip Offensive Player of the Week for the period of September 29-October 5.
The Titans (28-3, 7-0 WIAC) are hosting one of the eight regional tournaments of the NCAA Division III Championship for the second time in three seasons from Thursday to Saturday (Nov. 20-22) and will face Greenville University (Ill.) (24-10, 13-1 SLIAC) in the first round at Kolf Sports Center at 7 p.m.
