NASHVILLE, Tenn.- In the program's first trip to the Volunteer State, UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling competed in the Luther College Gator 'Boots' Duals at McGavock High School in Nashville on Friday (Dec. 19). Across four dual matches, the Titans won six matches.
Oshkosh (0-4) started its day against Simpson College's (Iowa) JV squad. While Izzy Paz,
Nellie Stagg (West Liberty, Iowa/West Liberty), and
Natalie Gratschmayr (Greendale/Martin Luther) won by forfeit at 103, 145, and 207 pounds,
Mya Delleree (Fredonia/Ozaukee) picked up a win by fall over Kendra Bliss in 1:54 at 138 pounds. The final score was a 28-26 loss for Oshkosh, the closest score of the meet.
Lock Haven University (Pa.) was the Titans' next opponent. Paz earned a 4:39 fall over Summer Batts and Delleree pinned Isabella Devito in 1:39 for Oshkosh's only wins of the 37-11 loss.
Huntingdon College (Ala.) put up a dominant 45-2 performance in Oshkosh's third dual.
Allison Weiss (Holmen/Holmen) scored the Titans' first point in a 10-5 loss to Aryiana Reid in the 117-pound bout and Delleree tallied the second point before Tristin Robinson won by 15-4 technical fall.
UW-Oshkosh wrapped up its Tennessee trip against Ursinus College (Pa.). The Bears posted a final score of 41-6 and
Ella Creighton (Lake Geneva/Badger) earned all six of the Titans' points in the dual by pinning Gianna Perez in 4:32.
The Titans will pick up their season after the new year at the UW-Stevens Point Multi Duals on Saturday, January 10. They wrestle the University of Dubuque (Iowa) (0-0) and Cornell College (Iowa) (3-1); both first-time opponents.
