MCMINNVILLE, Ore.- UW-Oshkosh women's basketball used multiple long scoring runs to hold Linfield University (Ore.) to a season-low 32 points on Friday night (Dec. 5) at the Wildcats' Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

The Titans (6-0), ranked third in NCAA Division III by
D3hoops.com and fourth by the
Women's Basketball Coaches Association, move to 2-0 against the Wildcats (4-2, 1-0 NWC) all time. Both wins came in Linfield's Ted Wilson Gymnasium with Oshkosh earning a 66-50 win on December 22, 2002, during a West Coast trip much like the one it is currently on. While the Titans played Willamette University (Ore.) the day before their matchup with the Wildcats in 2002, they will face Pacific University (Ore.) (4-2, 0-1 NWC) on Saturday (Dec. 6) at 4 p.m. Pacific Time at the Boxers' Stoller Center.

Oshkosh shot 47.2 percent (25-53) from the field, its second-highest clip of the year, but went 7-of-12 (.583) from the line and did not make a three-pointer on seven attempts.

The Titans held the Wildcats to 23.1 percent (12-of-52) from the field, 26.1 percent (6-of-23) from three, and 50 percent (2-of-4) from the line, including a 1-of-14 mark from the field in the second quarter and a 0-for-9 from the field and 2-of-4 from the line fourth quarter.

The Titans also outrebounded Linfield, 40-32, and recorded 12 steals on the Wildcats' 19 turnovers while committing 12.

Forty-six of Oshkosh's points were scored in the paint, 15 were scored on turnovers, four came on second chances, three were tallied in fast breaks, and 13 were recorded by reserve players.

UW-Oshkosh took the first lead of the game when
Sammi Beyer (Appleton/Appleton East) made a layup following
Olivia Argall's (Dodgeville/Dodgeville) first of four steals on the night. The Wildcats swapped the lead with a three before Beyer converted another three for a 4-3 score. Linfield made its final three-pointer of the half at 6:28 to take its last lead of the contest.
Avery Poole (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) tied the game at 6-6 with a layup and
Paige Seckar (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) outscored the Wildcats, 4-2, in the last 1:32 of the quarter by scoring on a layup and two three throws. She nearly added another two points as she shot a buzzer-beater that circled the rim but fell outside the net.

The Wildcats suffered a scoreless drought of more than eight minutes starting at 1:08 remaining in the first quarter while the Titans tallied the first eight points of the second quarter to increase their lead to 18-8. Oshkosh registered four of its steals in the run and tallied six of their first eight second-quarter points on steals. Linfield ended the spell with a layup at 1:56, however Oshkosh closed out the half with layups from Seckar and
Hope Barington (Sobieski/Notre Dame Academy) in back-to-back possessions.

At the start of the third quarter, the Wildcats scored five of the first seven points and responded to a pair of Oshkosh layups with two of their own. The Titans then went on an 8-0 run that featured a
Sarah Hardwick (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) layup, two Argall free throws, and two Beyer jumpers.
Kate Huml (Janesville/Janesville Craig) and Seckar combined for four points between 2:23 and 1:53 before the Wildcats closed out the third quarter with five consecutive points to cut the deficit to 42-30.

The Titans dominated the final period by scoring the first 12 points across 6:59 and followed a Linfield free throw with another by Huml. The Wildcats tallied one more point just outside the two-minute mark before Hardwick closed out the game with a layup at 1:14 for the final two points.

Beyer led all scorers with 14 points by shooting 7-of-13 from the field and was one of two Titans with two assists, the other being
Olivia Argall (Dodgeville/Dodgeville), who added six points and a career-high four steals.
Sarah Hardwick (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) followed Argall's flawless game against Wheaton College (Ill.) on Saturday, November 22 with one of her own, going a perfect 6-of-6 from the field for a season-high 12 points to go with her seven rebounds (two offensive). Seckar was Oshkosh's third double-digit scorer with 10 points. She shot 4-of-9 from the field and two-of-three from the line while registering eight rebounds (two offensive) with two steals and a block.
