MADISON, Wis.- Joey LaChapell paced UW-Oshkosh's 2025 WIAC Men's Basketball All-WIAC selections by earning the Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year award and an honorable mention.
Carter Thomas joined LaChapell on the honorable mention squad and
Jacob Townsend represented the Titans on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

LaChapell (Fr. • Appleton) became the third Titan to receive the league's newcomer award, joining Levi Borchert (2020) and
Michael Metcalf-Grassman (2024). He leads all three divisions of the NCAA with a .955 free-throw percentage and made a WIAC record 48 consecutive free throws in conference contests. LaChapell, who played in all 26 games with 25 starts, also tops the WIAC with a .421 three-point field goal percentage. His 29.6 points per WIAC game and .425 percentage from the field ranks second on the team behind Thomas.

LaChapell scored double-digit points 17 times across his freshman campaign, including a 30-point effort at UW-Platteville on January 11. He shot 8-of-16 from the field, 3-of-7 from the field, and made all 11 of his foul shots while pacing the Titans with four assists.

The WIAC defines a newcomer as a student-athlete who used his first season of participation in men's basketball this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they did not participate in men's basketball at their previous institution.

Carter Thomas (Jr. • Neenah) was honored as an honorable mention after starting all of 26 of UW-Oshkosh's contests. He collected top-10 conference positions in scoring average (13.4), three-point goals (42), free throws (102), points (348), and free throw percentage (.816).

Jacob Townsend (Sr. • LeClaire, Iowa), who is a two-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll selection, played in eight games this season.
