JACKSON, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's tennis began its spring season at the Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club on Saturday (April 12), defeating host Wisconsin Lutheran College handily. The Titans swept all three doubles matches and took four of the six singles for a 5-2 victory.

The Titans' (9-4) No. 1 doubles partners
Mana Usui (Fr. • Franklin) and
Kayla Gibbs (So. • Muskego) won the first flight by a score of 6-1, followed by No. 3's
Vianna Dao (Fr. • Oshkosh) and
Cate Gerl (So. • Joliet, Ill.) with a 6-1 win.
Brianna Owens (Fr. • Appleton) and
Courtney Carpenter (Jr. • Oshkosh) finished third in the second flight with a 6-2 victory.

Carpenter won the No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0 for Oshkosh's first point in the individual flights. Gibbs put the Titans up 3-0 after winning the No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-1. Gerl and Usui tallied the Titans' final two points with wins in the fifth and first flights. Both won 6-2, 6-1 in their respective matches.

UW-Oshkosh will travel to Palos Hills, Illinois on Saturday (April 19) for a matchup with Moraine Valley Community College.
