CLEVELAND- UW-Oshkosh collected top-10 finishes from women's volleyball in the fall; men's indoor track & field and women's basketball in the winter; and baseball and men's outdoor track & field in the spring to claim 28th place in the final standings of the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Learfield Directors' Cup.
 
The competition, which began in 1996, is designed to recognize the best overall athletics program in the country.
 
The Titans totaled 562.5 points during the academic year to record their eighth straight year in the top-40 and scored points in eight sports: three men's and five women's. The award was not presented in 2020 or 2021 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
 
UW-Oshkosh scored 90 points with its national runner-up finish from the men's indoor track & field team and added 75 points when the team took fifth at the outdoor national championship.
 
The women's track & field program scored 63 points with a 13th-place finish at the indoor national meet and totaled 64.5 points with a 12th-place finish at the outdoor meet.
 
Women's volleyball and women's basketball also reached the final sites of their respective championships, earning fifth- and third-place positions to score 73 and 83 points respectively.
 
The Titans also tallied 64 points on a ninth-place finish from baseball and 50 points on a 17th-place finish from softball during the spring season.
 
Emory University (Ga.) claimed the Directors' Cup with 1,198.75 total points. Johns Hopkins University (Md.) scored 1,147 points for second place and Tufts University (Mass.) finished third with 1,069. Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) and Middlebury College (Vt.) rounded out the top five with 1,044.75 and 971.75 points respectively.
 
The WIAC was led by UW-La Crosse with a 10th place finish (856 points) and UW-Whitewater with a 14th place finish (737.25 points). UW-Eau Claire finished 21st with 654.75 points to round of the top-four finishing schools. Other WIAC schools' places the standings were UW-Platteville at 59th with 331 points, UW-Stout at 73rd with 280, UW-Stevens Point at 94th with 218.50, and UW-River Falls at 101st with 194.60.
 
Overall, up to 18 total sports may count towards the final Directors' Cup standings, four of which must be men's basketball and soccer, and women's basketball and soccer, leaving the next 14 highest points scored to also be counted. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
 
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each school's national postseason finish in up to nine sports for men and nine for women. Each national champion received 100 points.
 
UW-Oshkosh achieved Directors' Cup top-10 finishes in 1996 (third), 1997 (fifth), 2001 (seventh), 2002 (eighth), 2003 (eighth) and 1999 (10th). The Titans' other placements were 11th in 1998; 12th in 2007 and 2011; 15th in 2004; 17th in 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2016; 21st in 2008 and 2013; 23rd in 2010; 28th in 2019; 29th in 2000; 31st in 2022 and 2024; 33rd in 2006; 34th in 2017; 36th in 2023; 37th in 2018; 38th in 2005; and 44th in 2015.
