Titans Hiring Head And Assistant Strength And Conditioning Coaches

OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh Athletics is now hiring for head and assistant strength and conditioning coaches.

The head strength and conditioning coach is an annual, limited-term appointment responsible for leading the development and execution of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all intercollegiate athletic teams at UW-Oshkosh. In addition to directing program administration, this role will supervise assistant coaching staff, maintain regulatory compliance and provide expert knowledge and leadership in strength and conditioning fostering a competitive intercollegiate program and a positive student-athlete experience.

Key responsibilities include: monitoring team training facilities and equipment to ensure safe and operable conditions; communicating and organizing with student-athletes within the rules and the regulations of UWO, WIAC, and NCAA DIII; leading conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team, providing information, and consulting with student-athletes regarding weight lifting and conditioning techniques and safety; teaching, training, and developing student-athletes to optimally perform the physical requirements necessary for success in competition while demonstrating a commitment to student-athlete character development; exerciseing supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees; demonstrating ability to set and achieve ambitious goals independently, pursuing ongoing professional development, and actively contributing to a collaborative and positive workplace culture; using strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate and work effectively with staff and student body; directing program operations and assisting in in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs with the understanding and knowledge of best practices in strength and conditioning including performance enhancement and injury prevention.

The assistant strength and conditioning coach is an annual, limited appointment responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of assigned sport program(s) strength and conditioning related activities. This role will aid in maintaining regulatory compliance and providing expert knowledge in strength and conditioning fostering a competitive intercollegiate program and a positive student-athlete experience.

Key responsibilities include: assisting in in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs with the understanding and knowledge of best practices in strength and conditioning including performance enhancement and injury prevention; demonstrating ability to set and achieve ambitious goals independently, pursue ongoing professional development, and actively contributing to a collaborative and positive workplace culture; entering and maintaining computerized data and tracking of individual and team student-athlete workouts; assisting with the instruction and execution of conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team, provides information, and consulting with student-athletes regarding weight lifting and conditioning techniques and safety; communicating and organizing with student-athletes within the rules and the regulations of UWO, WIAC, and NCAA DIII; serving as a point of contact and liaison to coaching staff, medical professionals, and student-athletes to monitor physical health, improve athletic abilities, and providing information and coaching; using strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate and work effectively with staff and student body; teaching, training, and developing student-athletes to optimally perform the physical requirements necessary for success in competition while demonstrating a commitment to student-athlete character development.
