OSHKOSH, Wis.- Three Titans scored at least 10 points at Kolf Sports Center on Saturday (Jan. 10) as UW-Oshkosh women's basketball defeated UW-Stevens Point, 64-41, to move to 3-0 in WIAC play.

Olivia Argall (Dodgeville/Dodgeville) led Oshkosh (14-0, 3-0 WIAC) with a career-high 12 points in front of an Alumni Day crowd, while
Sarah Hardwick (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) and
Kate Huml (Janesville/Janesville Craig) poured on 10 apiece. Argall scored all of her points from beyond the arc, Hardwick made three field goals, including a 3-pointer, and went 3-of-4 from the line, and Huml went 3-of-7 from the field, 2-of-2 from 3, and 2-of-2 from the line.

Paige Seckar (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) finished the game a point short of 10 points and
Mallory Hoitink (Hartford/Slinger) was Oshkosh's next highest scorer with eight points.

Hardwick led the Titans with six rebounds, three blocks and three steals and Seckar dished out a team-best three assists.

UW-Oshkosh, ranked third in NCAA Division III by
D3hoops.com and fourth by the
Women's Basketball Coaches Association, shot 38.2 percent (21-of-55) from the field and 85.7 percent (12-of-14) from the line while posting a season-best 50 percent from beyond the arc, making 10 of 20 attempts.

Both teams tallied 22 points in the paint, however the Titans held edges in points off turnovers (20-6), second chance points (11-6) and bench points (25-11). The Pointers outrebounded Oshkosh, 35-22, but turned the ball over 19 times with eight resulting in steals for Oshkosh.

UW-Oshkosh moved to 69-47 against the Pointers since the 1974-75 campaign with the win and 25-4 under head coach
Brad Fischer.

Avery Poole (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove),
Sarah Hardwick (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) and
Paige Seckar (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) each blocked a shot in Stevens Point's first three possessions before
Sammi Beyer (Appleton/Appleton East) put the Titans on the board first with a jumper at 7:35. The Pointers then tied the score with a layup and made two free throws after a steal to take a 4-2 lead that Huml erased with a 3-pointer in the following possession. Oshkosh held the Pointers to a pair on layups for the remainder of the first quarter and tallied 13 points of its own, including five straight on a Huml jump shot and three Hoitink free throws, a
Mahra Wieman (Sparta/Reedsburg Area) 3 and a Huml 3.

Seckar extended the Titans' lead to 19-8 early in the second quarter with an and-1 layup before Stevens Point's Karissa Smith cut the deficit to 19-11 with a 3-pointer at 8:20. After a series of traded baskets, the Pointers got back within six points with 3:18 left in the half on a 5-0 run, but Hardwick made a pair of consecutive baskets to bring the lead back to double digits. Stevens Point made a layup with under a minute to play, and the Titans went into halftime with a 31-22 lead.

Oshkosh outscored Stevens Point, 15-7, in the third quarter, started by a period-opening layup by Seckar. She later started a 6-point run at 6:37 that featured a Hardwick free throw and a Hoitink 3-pointer to hand the Titans a 41-27 edge with 4:29 remaining in the quarter. The last four minutes of the period were low scoring as the Pointers were held without a basket and Oshkosh added five points.
Abbey Inda (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) made two free throws at 2:43 and Argall made her first three at the buzzer.

Stevens Point scored three points in the first 2:10 of the fourth quarter, however Argall made her second 3 between trips to the line and answered with her third to put Oshkosh up, 52-32, at 7:28. Following a layup, she made yet another to score nine straight points for the Titans. Hardwick and Huml converted four combined free throws in back-to-back trips to the line and Poole converted one of her two attempts in the next possession, making the score 60-34 with 4:15 remaining.
Hope Barington (Sobieski/Notre Dame Academy) gave Oshkosh its largest lead of the day with a layup at 1:15 (64-37) before Stevens Point tallied the final four points of the contest with a layup and two free throws.

The Titans head on the road for their next two games, traveling to UW-Platteville (13-1, 3-0 WIAC) on Wednesday (Jan. 14) and UW-River Falls (8-6, 2-1 WIAC) next Saturday (Jan. 17). Oshkosh is 76-19 against the Pioneers and 69-27 against the Falcons since the 1974-75 season.
