Ella Duckmann paced the Titans with four shots in their match against Whitewater on Wednesday

OSHKOSH, Wis.- Despite outshooting UW-Whitewater, 18-12, with a 9-3 edge in the first half, UW-Oshkosh women's soccer lost to the Warhawks by a 2-0 tally at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Wednesday night (Oct. 21).

The Titans (6-5-4, 1-2-2 WIAC) did not earn a point in the conference standings with the loss and stand in fifth place with two matches remaining on their conference slate.

While Oshkosh held an 18-12 advantage in total shots, the Warhawks (12-3-2, 3-1-1 WIAC) put eight of their shots on goal to the Titans' four.

Whitewater also held a 5-2 lead in corner kicks, and its first goal was scored on a corner.

Ella Duckmann (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) led Oshkosh with four shots (one on goal) in the contest, followed by Maddie Daigle (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy) with three shots (one on goal). Both Jaden LeRoy (Evansville/Evansville) and Nadia Epshteyn (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) put one of their two shots on goal.

Larissa Likes (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) and Jamaya Mariner (Green Bay/Green Bay East) split time in goal for Oshkosh again and both allowed a goal. Likes saved two of the three shots she faced, and Mariner saved three of four.

The Titans took control of the ball early in the match and shot six times between the 10th and 22nd minutes with LeRoy's on-target attempt being saved and her second going off the left woodwork.

Oshkosh's defense held the Warhawks to just two shots (both on goal) for much of the first half until the visitors broke up the scoreless tie in the 42nd minute on a Brinley Dunsirn header to the net from Anna Gunderson's corner kick.

Epshteyn tried to the game at 1-1 in the 43rd minute, but Warhawk goalkeeper Lauren Ripley jump on the ball to preserve the lead.

Oshkosh again owned possession early in the second half with four shots before the 53rd minute, however none went on goal.

The Warhawks tallied their second goal in the 55th minute following two close attempts.

The Titans recorded two more shots between the posts for the remainder of the match: Duckmann in the 61st minute and Daigle in the 66th.
