Epshteyn Tallies Hat Trick As Titans Fly Past Falcons

Nadia Epshteyn scored her first career hat trick during the Titans' 5-1 road win over River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's soccer closed out its 2026 regular season schedule on Saturday (Oct. 31) with a 5-1 victory at UW-River Falls. The win at Ramer Soccer Stadium was highlighted by a 3-goal effort by Nadia Epshteyn (Cedarburg/Cedarburg).

With the win, the Titans (8-6-4, 2-3-2 WIAC) secured their spot in the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) and an overall winning record for the first time since 2021.

In a game that feature a total of 27 shots, Oshkosh owned 27 and held a 16-9 edge in on-target attempts over the Falcons (7-5-5, 0-3-4 WIAC). River Falls held advantages in corner kicks (6-3) and saves (11-8).

Epshteyn attempted seven shots across 50 minutes, five of which went on goal and a further three found the back of the net. With the six points, she moved into a tie with Addie Wreath (Appleton/Appleton East) for the second-most points on the team this season while ranking just 19th in minutes played.

Greta Steines (Eau Claire/Eau Claire Memorial) scored for the second time in two matches and Addyson Knoebel (Appleton/Appleton West) tallied her third goal of the season to round out the scorers.

Knoebel, Maddie Daigle (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy) and Ella Duckmann (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) all had two shots on goal while Ariana Gonzalez (Appleton/Appleton North) notched her first career assist.

Epshteyn took her second shot of the game in the sixth minute, and Steines scored her goal off the deflection to give the Titans an early lead.

The duo combined for Oshkosh's second goal just eight minutes later when Steines took a foul inside the penalty box at 13:48 and Epshteyn buried the Titans' third penalty kick goal of the season.

River Falls made its first serious attempt on the goal shortly later, but Larissa Likes (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) saved the on-target shot and watched a second go wide right.

At the end of the 24th minute, Epshteyn made a move to lose the one defender between her and the goal and kicked a hard shot that Falcons goalkeeper Courtney Bain had to stretch all the way out to save. Epshteyn followed her attempt all the way to the goal box and tapped the ball between Bain's legs for her first career multi-goal match and a 3-0 edge. The goal made her the second Titan to record a multi-goal game this season. Jaden LeRoy (Evansville/Evansville) scored four goals in a 6-0 victory at Benedictine University (Ill.) on Sept. 12.

Likes concluded her day with four saves in the first half. Jamaya Mariner (Green Bay/Green Bay East) started the second half and recorded four saves of her own before Julia Sieracki (Manitowoc/Manitowoc Lincoln) saw her first minutes in goal for Oshkosh this season in the final four minutes of play. She did not face a shot.

Mariner made a fantastic outstretched save in the 54th minute and stopped the ensuing corner kick to retain the lead.

Epshteyn made her third goal of the match in the 59th minute, navigating her way between a pair of defenders before finding the back of the goal.

A Hannah Huntley (Hudson/Hudson) attempt knocked Bain backwards into the goal in the 71st minute and Knoebel, who was waiting near the goal, lifted the ball past the line for the Titans' fifth score.

The Falcons broke the shutout in the 74th minute with a goal to the bottom left corner of the net.

Oshkosh's final shot on goal came in the 77th minute when Kylie Morrey (Spring Green/River Valley) tried to extend the lead back to five goals but was thwarted by Bain.

The Titans will compete in the WIAC Tournament for the 32nd time in 33 seasons starting on Tuesday (Nov. 3) in the quarterfinal round. Oshkosh carries a 14-28-3 all-time record in the conference tournament and looks to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship as the league's automatic bid for the fourth time in program history (2011, 2014, 2021).
