OSHKOSH, Wis.- Abby Gildernick has been elevated to the role of deputy director of athletics within the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department as announced by assistant chancellor for intercollegiate athletics

Gildernick, who is also UW-Oshkosh's senior woman administrator, compliance director and deputy Title IX director, has been promoted after serving as the department's assistant director of athletics since January of 2022.

"We are always on the lookout for new avenues to promote the staff in our department and Abby's promotion is a perfect opportunity to highlight our highest-ranking woman. Over the last four years, Abby has become an integral part of our department through her variety of responsibilities and is always looking for ways for us to improve. I am confident that she will continue to drive positive change at UW-Oshkosh for years to come."

As senior woman administrator and compliance officer, Gildernick maintains institutional control of NCAA and WIAC compliance, event management and Name, Image and Likeness opportunities. She is also the administrator for half of the Titans' sports and oversees UW-Oshkosh's marketing and social media efforts as well as the sports medicine staff. Gildernick will also continue to serve as the primary liaison for UW-Oshkosh's partnerships with BSN, Influxer and Spry.

Since her arrival at UW-Oshkosh, Gildernick has served as the tournament director of nine NCAA Division III regional sites: the 2022 Men's Basketball Regional, the 2023 Men's Basketball Regional, 2023 Softball Regional, 2023 Volleyball Regional, 2024 Women's Basketball Regional, 2024 Softball Regional, 2025 Women's Basketball Regional, 2025 Softball Regional and 2025 Women's Volleyball Regional.

Prior to coming to Oshkosh, Gildernick was the associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator at St. Norbert College. She handled the Green Knights' department's business affairs, including budgeting and forecasting, and managed the department's travel arrangements while providing event management at home events.

Gildernick was a four-year letterwinner of the St. Norbert College softball team, an assistant coach for the women's basketball program, and the Commencement speaker for the St. Norbert College Class of 2014.

The West De Pere High School graduate was the coordinator of athletics at Lawrence University from 2015-17. She also was an assistant coach for the school's women's basketball team.

Gildernick was a graduate assistant for women's basketball and a graduate assistant within the sports administration department at Eastern Kentucky University during the 2017-18 school year, acquiring her master's degree in the process.
