INDIANOLA, Iowa- Mya Delleree (Fredonia/Ozaukee) advanced to the semifinal round of the 124-pound bracket in Friday's (Feb. 20) opening matches of the inaugural NCAA Division III Region V Championship.

The Titans currently rank 10th in the 15-team regional, hosted in Simpson College's (Iowa) McCowles Fieldhouse, with 15.5 points. The NCAA currently sponsors women's wrestling on a divisionless National Collegiate basis.

Delleree, ranked sixth in the 124-pound bracket, got off to a successful start with a 3:00 pin fall over three seed Sophie Bowers from Wartburg College (Iowa) following a first-round bye. She came back from a 10-2 deficit to secure the victory and will face second-seeded Cali Leng from Division I University of Iowa for the right to advance to the bracket's championship match.

Isabel Paz (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North), the seven seed in her bracket, dropped into the consolation bracket at 103 pounds after a 10-0 technical fall loss to Alexis Winecke from UW-Stevens Point. She turned around with a 10-0 win of her own over Augsburg University's (Minn.) Chelsea Beaver and will face sixth-seeded Mia Vazquez of Augustana College (Ill.).

Following a shutout loss to Augsburg's Gisele Gallegos, the 117-pound seven seed, Allison Weiss (Holmen/Holmen) advanced to Saturday's matches with a win by disqualification. She will wrestle fourth-seeded Layla Phillips from Simpson.

Ella Creighton (Lake Geneva/Badger), wrestling at 180 pounds, bounced back from a technical fall loss to three seed Kara Kuge from UW-Stevens Point with a comeback win by fall against Katie Whelan of Augsburg. After going down, 9-7, to Whelan with a minute remaining in the second period, Creighton pinned Whelan with just a tick remaining at 5:59. She ended her regional run with a loss by fall to Jenna Joseph from Simpson, the four seed in the bracket.

Myra Bair (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) lost by technical fall in both of her 110-pound bouts. Nellie Stagg (West Liberty, Iowa/West Liberty) dropped her matches by fall and technical fall at 145 pounds. Natalie Gratschmayr (Greendale/Martin Luther) lost by fall in her two 207-pound matches.
