SAUGET, Ill.- UW-Oshkosh baseball bounced back from a 7-inning loss to host Webster University (Mo.) at the Gorloks' Arsenal BG Ballpark with a 7-4 victory over Hanover College (Ind.) in Friday's (March 13) nightcap.

The Titans (3-3), who are ranked 19th in NCAA Division III by
D3baseball.com and 14th by the
American Baseball Coaches Association, claimed a 4-2 lead over the Gorloks (5-9) in the top of the second inning on a solo home run and a bases-clearing error, but did not score again in the game, eventually falling 14-4 in seven innings.

Danny Connelly (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) and
Braydon Skenandore (De Pere/West De Pere) both collected two hits against Webster and
Jack McKellips (Oshkosh/Lourdes Academy) recorded a game-high three RBI.
Logan Schill (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) added another stolen base to his season sheet.

Josh Jansen (DeForest/DeForest) (0-2) started on the mound for the Titans against the Gorloks. He pitched 5.2 innings and struck out five batters while allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk.
Joe Richardson (Lake Forest, Ill./Stevenson) and
Hoyt Keller (Wautoma/Wautoma) each threw less than an inning in the Gorloks' eight-run seventh frame before
Michael Hughes (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) faced the last two batters.

The Gorloks jumped on the board first with a pair of solo home runs in the first inning.

Connelly led off the top of the second inning with his first career home run in the second pitch of the at-bat.
Brenden Max (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) walked, Skenandore singled and
Jack McNamara (La Grange, Ill./Lyons) singled to load the bases for McKellips, who sent all three runners in on an error by the third baseman. Schill and
Evan Olson (Appleton/Appleton East) both walked later in the inning and reloaded the bags, however Connelly popped up to the shortstop for the third out in his second at-bat of the inning.

Webster scored twice more in the fourth inning and once in the sixth for a 6-4 edge headed to the seventh inning. The Gorloks tallied their eight runs in the inning on a bases-loaded hit by pitch, a sacrifice fly, an RBI single and two 2-RBI hits.

UW-Oshkosh and Hanover (3-7) faced off for the first time ever in Friday's nightcap and the Titans collected the first victory in the series with a 7-4 comeback win.

Baris Brua (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) opened the contest on the rubber for Oshkosh but was pulled for innings-eater
Cooper Kamlay (Franklin/Franklin) after allowing two first-inning runs and no outs. Kamlay threw four complete frames and fanned five Panthers while giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.

Colton Kachinsky (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) relieved Kamlay at the start of the fifth inning and pitched through the sixth inning. He kept Hanover off the board while allowing two hits and a walk against three strikeouts before
Benje Hencke (De Pere/West De Pere) (1-0) came in for the following two innings. Hencke tossed another pair of scoreless frames and sat down four Panthers, walked three and allowed no runs on his way to earning the win.

Ryan Richter (Waukesha/Waukesha West) earned his first save of the season when he came in at the top of the ninth with a three-run edge for the Titans and let just one Panther on base with a walk. He added another strikeout to bump the Titans' total to 13 in the game.

Skenandore tacked on another pair of hits against Hanover, was hit by a pitch, and recorded a sacrifice hit to go with two RBI.
Mateo Gamboa (Midlothian, Ill./Oak Forest) went 1-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBI and McNamara scored twice while going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

McKellips, who notched a double against Hanover, was one of six Titans to swipe a bag, joined by
Tim Witchger (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame College Prep),
Gavin Persson (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North), Gamboa, Connelly and McNamara.

The Panthers opened scoring in the top of the first inning with a walk and a hit by pitch both with bases loaded. After Hanover scored its second run, Kamlay came in to pitch and recorded three-straight outs on a fielder's choice and two strikeouts.

Gamboa led off the second inning by reaching on an error and advanced to second base when Connelly singled to center field. Both runners pulled off the double steal and McNamara loaded the bases with a walk before Gamboa scored on Skenandore's hit by pitch.

The Titans added another run in the third inning when Persson hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring McKellips who led off the inning with a double and moved to third with his stolen base.

A two-run home run broke the tie in the top of the fourth inning, putting Hanover up, 4-2.

After a pair of scoreless frames for both teams in the fifth and sixth innings, the Titans took over and scored five runs across the seventh and eighth.
Aaron Davis (Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South) sent McNamara to the plate with a sacrifice bunt in the seventh. In the eighth, Gamboa scored two runners with a triple, McNamara sent in another with a single and Skenandore created the 7-4 edge with a groundout to the pitcher.

Richter got his first batter out on strikes in the ninth inning and induced a pair of flyouts after allowing a six-pitch walk to the second batter.

The Titans return to Arsenal BG Ballpark on Saturday (March 14) for their final game in Sauget, facing Milwaukee School of Engineering (7-4) at 10 a.m. Oshkosh is 13-3 all-time against the Raiders since the programs' first meeting in 1999 and 7-3 in the last 10 matchups.
