Lauren Karnitz earned regional awards from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Wednesday (April 15). McGibboney was tabbed as the West Region Gymnast of the Year and Karnitz was selected as the region's coach of the year.

McGibboney wrapped up her collegiate career with two individual national titles and an additional All-America medal at the 2026 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championship in Cortland, N.Y. on March 20. She won the vault and floor exercise with scores of 9.800 and 9.850, respectively, while taking second on the uneven bars at 9.850. She will graduate as an eight-time All-American, adding to her two vault medals in 2023 and 2024, uneven bars medal in 2025 and floor exercise medals in 2023 and 2024.

McGibboney was named a regular season first team All-American on the vault by the WCGA on April 1.

During the WIAC Championship on March 7, she won the vault title at 9.850 points and tied for second in the floor exercise at 9.775 on her way to being named the league's gymnast of the year.

McGibboney topped the division this year with a season average score of 9.825 points on the vault, ranked 14th on the uneven bars at a 9.6875 and 17th in the floor exercise at a 9.7625.

Karnitz earned West Region Coach of the Year laurels for the second time (2020) after guiding the Titans to their sixth consecutive WIAC championship and the fourth NCGA title in five years.

Over the course of the season, Oshkosh five program records. Individually,
Ome Ellis (Oak Park, Mich./Royal Oak) reset the long-standing balance beam record with 9.925 points at the conference meet on March 7. The team broke both the vault (48.775) and balance beam (49.125) marks during the conference championship on its way to the first total score above 195 points (195.175) in NCGA history before scoring a program-best 49.025 on the uneven bars at the national championship on March 20.

The WCGA is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's gymnastics coaches within Division I, II & III of the NCAA and the NAIA. It works to promote and elevate the sport at all levels of collegiate competition.
