OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh baseball snapped a five-game skid on Saturday (April 25), defeating UW-Stout in the first two games of its four-game series at Tiedemann Field.

The Titans (13-20, 9-13 WIAC) won the first game, 6-1, before earning an eight-inning win of 10-0 in the nightcap. They have now won seven games in a row against the Blue Devils (9-24, 2-20 WIAC) and 10 of the last 12.

Stout lost its 17th game in the last 18 contests and third in a row. The Blue Devils snapped a 14-game losing streak with an 11-9 win over UW-River Falls at the Falcons' home field on Wednesday (April 22).

Oshkosh outhit the Blue Devils, 11-5, and committed two errors to Stout's five.
Trevor Morris (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) collected a team high five hits across the pair of games, including two doubles in the opener.

The Titans opened scoring in the first game with a run in the bottom of the second inning and scored again in the fifth before Stout got on the board with an unearned run in the top of the sixth inning. Oshkosh scored four runs over its last three turns at the plate to secure the win.

Braydon Skenandore (De Pere/West De Pere) hit a leadoff double in the second frame and
Brenden Max (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) was hit by a pitch. After
Aaron Davis (Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South) reached on an error with his sacrifice bunt and loaded the bases, Skenandore scored on
Cullen Kirchberg's (DeForest/DeForest) groundout into a double play that also got Davis at second.
Tim Witchger (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame College Prep) drew a two-out walk, but both he and Max were stranded when
Gavin Persson (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) grounded out.

Following a pair of scoreless innings, Persson singled up the middle of the infield and advanced to second on a passed ball before reaching home on Morris' double to the left field wall.

After Stout broke through for a run in the top of the sixth inning, the Titans added their third run in the bottom half of the frame. Davis got on base with a leadoff walk and moved to second on a Kirchberg sacrifice bunt before stealing third. Witchger then singled to right center to score Davis.

Oshkosh added an unearned run in the seventh inning before scoring on a sacrifice fly and Morris' second RBI double in the eighth.

Josh Jansen (DeForest/DeForest) (2-5) earned his first win since April 3 behind a six-inning performance that included a season-high nine strikeouts, including three in the first inning and two in the fourth. He allowed one unearned run on two hits, four walks and a hit batter.

Ryan Richter (Waukesha/Waukesha West) tossed a pair of scoreless innings in the seventh and eighth frames and
Ben Buehring (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) shut the door with a three up-three down ninth, featuring two strikeouts.
Â
Luke Carrier (1-5) was assigned the loss after he allowed three runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batter against two strikeouts.

Gavyn Schacher led the Blue Devils with two hits in the opener while Cage Kavanagh scored their only run.

Oshkosh's 12-man senior class was celebrated between games.

The Titans backed up
Brett Gaynor's (Long Grove, Ill./Stevenson) complete-game shutout in the nightcap with 10 runs on 11 hits in eight innings. Gaynor (3-0) scattered five hits, walked three and hit one batter while fanning seven Blue Devils. He faced the minimum in three innings and struck out at least two batters in two.

Oshkosh jumped on Stout starter Cole Harris for three runs in the first inning on a Skenandore fielder's choice and a two-run error.

The deficit remained 3-0 until Max hit a one-out home run in the fifth inning and
Jack McNamara (La Grange, Ill./Lyons) knocked his own shot over the fence for two runs in the sixth.

Skenandore led off the game-ending eighth inning with a double to right center and advanced to third when Kirchberg grounded out. Davis sent Skenandore across the plate on an infield single.
Danny Connelly (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) doubled down the left field line to score pinch runner
David Wick (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) for the eighth run, McNamara scored on a
Ben Volpe (Whitefish Bay/Whitefish Bay) groundout, and
Owen Housinger (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson) ended the day with an RBI single that plated Connelly.

Harris fell to 0-2 as he allowed six runs (four earned) across seven innings of work. He gave up six hits, a walk and hit two batters while striking out four Titans.

Five Blue Devils combined to tally Stout's five hits in the second game.

The Titans and Blue Devils return to Tiedemann Field on Sunday (April 26) for another doubleheader starting at noon.
