MADISON, Wis.- Lauren Grier (Fond du Lac/Fond du Lac) was named the WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 22) for her performance during the period of Sept. 14-20.

Grier anchored the net for No. 1-ranked UW-Oshkosh during a 4-1 week, totaling 30 blocks across 17 sets for an average of 1.71 blocks per set. She opened the week with seven blocks, including two solo blocks, in a sweep of Carthage College before adding seven block assists in a sweep of Edgewood University. Grier added two solo blocks and a dig as the Titans held St. Catherine University (Minn.) to a .098 hitting percentage, then recorded five block assists in a sweep of University of Northwestern (Minn.). She capped the week with a season-high nine blocks, including one solo block and eight block assists, in a five-set match against Juniata College (Pa.). Grier finished the week with five solo blocks and 25 block assists while helping the Titans record four consecutive sweeps before its five-set loss to Juniata.
