Nelson enters his first season with the Titans in 2024.

Nelson was most recently the head coach of the varsity girls’ soccer program at Oshkosh West High School. In that capacity, he designed and implemented practice drills for team needs and opponent scouting and assisted in recruiting exposure for student-athletes interested in competing at the intercollegiate level on top of his head coaching duties.

Before his time with the Wildcats, Nelson was an assistant coach with the UW-Whitewater men’s soccer team from 2020-23, the head varsity boys’ soccer coach at Mukwonago High School from 2019-20 and the goalkeepers coach for the girls’ soccer team at Mukwonago High School from 2017-23. He started his time as a coach with the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program in 2018 and remains in that capacity.

Nelson earned his bachelor’s degree from UW-Stevens Point in 2013 and his master’s from UW-Whitewater in 2021. He has taught at Franklin Middle School, Park View Middle School in Mukwonago and Wisconsin Connection Academy in Appleton. Professional qualifications he owns include a United States Soccer Federation National ‘D’ License and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Goalkeeping Level 1 diploma.
