Delaney Rutherford enters her second season as an assistant coach with the UW-Oshkosh women’s volleyball program in 2025.
In Rutherford’s debut season with the Titans, UW-Oshkosh produced a 29-6 record and finished the year ranked fifth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll after claiming the WIAC regular season title and the NCAA Division III Marietta (Ohio) Regional championship.
Rutherford, the operations manager for Madison in the League One Volleyball league, came to the Titans from Division I Northwestern University (Ill.) where she served as the Director of Volleyball Operations since January of 2022. Her duties included assisting in day-to-day operations of the Wildcat volleyball program, including scheduling, team travel, managing social media accounts, content creation and directing the summer volleyball camps.
Prior to coming her stint at Northwestern, Rutherford served as an assistant coach for Green Bay, starting in the role in 2019. She served as an assistant varsity coach with West Bend High School for a year before joining the Phoenix staff. She has coached at the club level for the past eight seasons, most recently the head coach for Adversity Volleyball Club with a previous stop at FC Elite Volleyball Club.
Rutherford competed for Clarke University (Iowa) in 2014 before transferring to UW-Stevens Point. She then competed for the Pointers from 2015-17. A setter, she played in 67 sets and recorded 415 assists with 155 digs and 20 kills across her three-year career with Stevens Point. She graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and completed her master's degree in applied leadership at Green Bay in May 2021.
