The UW-Oshkosh softball team faces some quality competition during its 10 games from March 17-22 in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Titans began their season with a 3-1 record during a weekend (Feb. 23-24) trip to Marquette, Mich. Lindsey Luedke (Fr. • Howard) hit two home runs, while Kassie Krueger (Jr. • Plover) also posted four RBI. Courtney Wautier (Sr. • Brussels) earned two pitching wins with a 2.80 ERA.
On Sunday (March 17), UW-Oshkosh faces NYU-Polytechnic Institute. The Jays won the Skyline Conference last year while going 27-11. UW-Oshkosh will also meet The College of Wooster (Ohio), which is 5-0 this season.
The March 18 schedule includes the University of New England (Maine) and North Central College (Ill.). New England is the defending champion of the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
After a day off, UW-Oshkosh returns to the field against State University of N.Y.-Brockport and Knox College (Ill.) on March 20. Brockport tallied a 27-15 record last year.
The Titans meet another league champion in Worcester State University (Mass.), which claimed the 2012 MASCAC title with a 12-2 mark. UW-Oshkosh's other foe on March 21 will be the University of Mass.-Dartmouth.
On March 22, the Titans battle a familiar opponent in UW-Superior. UW-Oshkosh split its doubleheader with the Yellowjackets last season. The Titans then conclude their Florida swing against Hamilton College (N.Y.).
UW-Oshkosh opens its home schedule vs. St. Norbert College on March 27.
