UW-Oshkosh remained as one of only two unbeaten WIAC women's soccer teams following its 2-0 victory over UW-River Falls on Saturday (Oct. 11) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The Titans scored once in each half against the Falcons to improve their WIAC record to 3-0 (7-5-1 overall). UW-River Falls (7-4-2, 1-2-1 WIAC) had its three-match winning streak snapped with the loss.

UW-Whitewater also kept its WIAC record (5-0) perfect on Saturday by defeating UW-La Crosse, 2-1. The four-time defending WIAC champion Warhawks (12-2) will host UW-Oshkosh in a battle for first place in the league standings on Wednesday (Oct. 15).

Robyn Elliott put UW-Oshkosh ahead of UW-River Falls with a 15-yard kick during the 27th minute (26:31) of play. Elliott's fourth score of the season came off a shot that lofted over the extended arms of Falcon goalkeeper Erica Cimochowski.

Katelyn Fladten provided the Titans with an insurance goal in the 51st minute (50:35). Fladten's second goal of the season, a five-yard boot to the left post, followed a cross from Felicia Retrum and a deflection off the foot of Kaitlyn Schauer.

UW-Oshkosh tallied advantages of 15-7 in shots, 7-2 in shots on goal and 5-3 in corner kicks. Retrum paced the Titans with four shots, while Fladten and Rachel Elliott contributed two each.

UW-River Falls was held to just two second-half shots. The Falcons' overall total featured three shots from Alex Swatloski and two from Abby Soderholm.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Nina Muzi stopped both shots she faced to record her fifth shutout of the season. Cimochowski was credited with five saves, including four in the first half, for the Falcons.
