Titans Sweep All Events in Dual Win at Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn.- With at least the top-three finishers in each event and the first all-around performance of the year, the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics squad defeated the Hamline University (Minn.) Pipers in St. Paul by a score of 188.650-181.850. The Titans have extended their streak of scoring at least 188 points to six meets.

Oshkosh scored 45.975 points on the uneven parallel bars, 47.925 points on the vault, 47,325 on the floor exercise and 47.425 on the balance beam. 

Junior Emily Buffington competed as the first all-arounder for the Titans this season, receiving a combined score of 37.050. She recorded an 8.650 point performance in the uneven bars, 9.350 points on the vault, 9.475 points on the floor exercise and 9.575 points on the balance beam.

On the uneven bars, senior Trinity Sawyer placed first with a 9.525 point performance, followed in order by sophomore Sam Zeilinger (9.500), senior Adana Amor (9.225) and graduate student Rahdea Jarvis (9.075).

Sophomore Mia Lucero led all competitors on the vault with a 9.725 point score. Freshman Reanna McGibboney took second with a score of 9.600. Jarvis took third and senior Haley Volstad and sophomore Daejah Rose tied for fourth with scores of 9.550, and 9.525. Buffington placed seventh with her 9.350 point score.

Jarvis won the floor exercise, scoring a 9.675. Sophomore Delaney Cienkus grabbed second with a score of 9.625. McGibboney rounded out the top-three with a 9.600 point finish. Buffington's 9.475 placed her in a tie for fifth.

Freshman Mady Bellmore and sophomore Ella Wilson tied for first in the balance beam with scores of 9.650. Wilson set her season high, and Bellmore tied hers. After Buffington's third place finish, sophomore Liz Romano took fourth, scoring 9.550 points. Cienkus and junior Anan Zoromski each recorded 9.000 point scores, tying for seventh. 

Looking Forward

The Titans will return to action at home on Thursday, Feb. 16 to face Winona State University (Minn.) at 6 p.m. Thursday will also be Alumni/Faculty Appreciation Night and the first 50 fans will receive retro tie dye t-shirts.
